Guest guest
I've never heard of it but someone on lymenet is doing very well after 20 years of lyme, using the cowden protocol, and it is recommended by one of the lyme docs now who is considered lyme literate. Where is the post? I find the immunesupport board a little bit helter skelter. > > Hi, a, Jill & all. > > > > Have you ever used the Lyme treatment, Nutramedix's Takuna, a > chemotype antiviral extract from the Amazon Basin? > > > Dr. Cowden uses Nutramedix products for Lyme and other diseases. > There's been a reported 60-70% success rate, which I don't know what > this statement actually means. > > > But one woman at immunesupport.com who is about to add Rich's > simplified treatment reports lots of herxing on Takuna. > > > > >
Guest guest
I didn't copy and save it, it's still at immunesupport.com. Typing in the word " takuna " in search may get you to it there immediately. <jenbooks13@...> wrote: > > I've never heard of it but someone on lymenet is doing very well after > 20 years of lyme, using the cowden protocol, and it is recommended by > one of the lyme docs now who is considered lyme literate. > > Where is the post? Guest guest
I tried that on the Lyme message board and no results. Could it be on another set of boards? FYI my LLMD uses tso free Cat's Claw with quite a bit of success at least at knocking down the bacteria. I have to confess that one capsule of it makes me herx so badly that I haven't really used it. I'm normally at the barely functioning level, and knowing if I take something it's going to land me in bed for at least a few days is difficult, espcecially as I am single. I guess another part of it is that I've been through the whole IV antibiotic, HBO, transfer factor, cholyestrimine, yadda yadda routines, and while they can all make me really sick (well, not transfer factor- that didn't do anything), nothing seems to really have a long term positive effect, so hesitant to take something else I know will make me sick without some idea it will really have a long term positive effect. > > > > > > Hi, a, Jill & all. > > > > > > > > > > > > Have you ever used the Lyme treatment, Nutramedix's Takuna, a > > > chemotype antiviral extract from the Amazon Basin? > > > > > > > > > Dr. Cowden uses Nutramedix products for Lyme and other diseases. > > > There's been a reported 60-70% success rate, which I don't know what > > > this statement actually means. > > > > > > > > > But one woman at immunesupport.com who is about to add Rich's > > > simplified treatment reports lots of herxing on Takuna. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi, . Yeah, I got the impression the takuna product was making this woman herx a lot, but the fact that she's now adding or switching over to Rich's treatment suggests to me it may be limited in what it can do despite the " herxy " action one may experience early on. But, I thought I'd ask. <tansyhl@...> wrote: > > I tried that on the Lyme message board and no results. Guest guest
It is part of Cowden's protocol. Go to: http://www.nutramedix.cc/ then click on protocols. Somewhere on the site is a big graph showing when and how much to take of all of the different herbals used. I have a friend that goes to Dr. Horowitz. He has a number of patients on it and is pleased with the progress they are making. But like any other protocol for these illnesses there is a subset doing really well on it and others not so well.
