Guest guest
Hey I got a booster tetanus a couple months ago, just because it had been 10 years and was " time " and I wasnt on top of my game when I got it, I was trying to remember the important thing to ask about, thimerasol/mercury but it didnt come to my mind and the nurse told me not to worry there was nothing " live " in it she said and low risk for bad reaction and I felt on the spot because I had made the appt to get it as I was going to travel and at my physical they had told me I should get it so I was trying to be proactive. argh. anyway, after I got it I was reminded there could be thimerasol in it so I called back the clinic to ask a couple days later and the receptionist thought all their immunizations were merc-free now, but the nurse called me back and said there was a " trace " amount of thimerasol in it ( I think the merc-free ones are just for kids and I seriously bummed out over this but couldnt get mad at them as felt it was my own fault for forgetting to ask. Anyway, I was reminded of this as I was just reading the dental thread here and they talked about taking chlorella. I went to a holistic doc after that who gave me chlorella but it made me feel worse, so I stopped taking it plus an envmtl scientist told me I could just be re-exposing myself to the bad stuff by trying to detox, she said ride it out, merc has 30 day halflife. Who the heck knows, but I dont want to take stuff that makes me feel worse, don't trust that. Anyway, I am curious what peoples thoughts are here about immunizations? I havent been able to tell if it has done anything worse to me than I was....the first couple days arm was sore and I was more tired for sure but then I almost felt more hyper for alittle while after that, could have been excitoxins in it or something. Its confusing what to do when the scientists/doctors give different advice.
Guest guest
I had a tetanus booster about 5 years ago, and had no problems. I might have not formed antibodies, but had no relapse. It probably depends on the degree of illness, those with more debility should avoid, those of us who can function at a reduced rate are probably o.k. Ad least if you get a dog bite, you might consider a booster. Just my thoughts JL On 6/3/2012 11:27 AM, wrote: > > Hello Amy, > > My decline with ME/CFS occurred after taking the tetanus vaccine in 1997. > > > > On Jun 3, 2012, at 12:50 AM, amy wrote: > > > Should we get the usual tetanus shot? > > > > OR is the shot itself going to cause immune or other p[roblems for us? > > > > Are we at any higher risk of tetnus? > > > > thanks, > > Amy > > > > > >
