I have often wondered this! So croup could be really whooping cough???

I wonder this about a lot of diseases actually ... especially after having my

son and seeing the things other children in my email groups are getting.

(sorry I know this message is really old, I have a lot of stuff I haven't read

yet!!)

They look and see if child vaccinated and then diagnose croup because, of

course, they think, it can't be whooping cough.

You have brought up an excellent point!

Not all children 'whoop' with whooping cough

Very possibly. Disease names are just names of a group of symptoms doctors

have come up with. Although croup usually lasts much

shorter............but maybe a very healthy child will only get croup that

lasts shorter time. Very good questions. I don'tknow.

And what Nansi has said is a very strong possibility - doctor will diagnose

it as croup if vaccinated. But croup lasts a much shorter time.

I think even longer than that. I seem to remember hearing it called the 100 day

cough.

Whooping cough lasts a LONG time. Six weeks or so (?). My daughter coughed

well over a month - maybe six weeks. I'm not saying she had it, but that was my

guess. It was the cough that just wouldn't go away.

How frighteneing, ! Breathing issues scare me half to death. I'm so glad

she recovered after her allopathic treatments. I suppose the right homeopath

could have helped you avoid the ER, but that's irrevelent now. What's important

is that she's well now with no more such occurences.

When my daughter had " croup " it came on quick--overnight--she had it very

severe. She was only 14 months old and I could hear her breathing through a

closed door. She did not respond to a days worth of trying homeopathy and

herbs with our then anthroposophical pediatrician and ended up in the ER

with two breathing treatments before her oxygen levels were within normal

limits. She was fine after a few days.
