Guest guest
Hi April -- I'd clean the bath and shower area VERY well, so that it doesn't spread to anyone else. Health & blessings, Safe, powerful, *GREEN* and smart. http://www.Shaklee.net/ExcitingHealth/GetClean 1-866-312-8064 On 9/19/06, April H. <nicolateslarules@...> wrote: > > My 8 yr old has athletes feet. Guest guest
PLEASE don't take a homeopathic remedy based on one symptom or a disease/illness name. That's not homeopathy and can be very dangerous. Homeopathy is individualized and takes the person's ENTIRE symptom picture into account when chosing a remedy. Thuja MIGHT fit one person's symptom picture when they have athletes foot, but it will NOT be the remedy of choice for everyone. 10 people with colds very well might take 10 different remedies. There is no Remedy A for Symptom B. Sheri N. just posted her info on another upcoming class of hers (Intro to Homeopathy). I HIGHLY recommend it. Homeopathy can be dangerous when used incorrectly. Guest guest
Hello, April! In the Navy, an older friend of mine told me that all of the men had the problem and would wash their feet with one gallon of hot water and one quater teaspoon of potassium permanganate. It is a super high oxidizer. It will turn the water a magenta color, your feet a brown color that will wash off, and it will discolor your toenails to a tortoise shell color and texture. I have used it with a very stubborn case of athletes' feet for myself, and it worked immediately where the expensive prescription treatment did not. It acts by drying the skin and tissues on the feet. I also suggest drinking apple cider vinegar in a glass of water daily until it all goes away to clear your dear daughter's body of the stuff that is letting the fungus grow on her pretty feet. - Maureen Gradvohl > best ways to stop athletes > feet? > > > > My 8 yr old has athletes feet. We use it all the time for that purpose. I can put it on a yeasty diaper rash (or a yeasty rash on my own body), and it only takes one application. Even better, it smells great. (forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I'm WAY behind on my lists.) Also, I personally wouldn't use bleach on his socks. I'd use the hottest water possible and and healthy dose of distilled white vinegar. Works great on yeast in cloth diapers. in IN Loving wife to Fred (03/18/00) Proud mama to: Abigail Frances (8/13/02, homebirth transfer) Frederick Leland (7/9/05, born at home!) Guest guest
Would you agree, Kay, that treating a condition like athlete's foot with anything that is going to *control* it will, in fact, be suppressive? I think it would. To me, athlete's foot is a sign that the constitution needs a boost - when the problem will go away on its own. Any attempts to treat something that do not address the root cause are suppressive, imo. Would agree with 's suggestion to reduce sugars and some probiotics though. That can only do good to the whole constitution. Second what you say below about homoeopathic remedies wholeheartedly. Guest guest
Absolutely, Sue. Guest guest
This is one of the problems I'm seeing the homeopath for. But, about the statement: " homeopathy can be dangerous when used incorrectly " :, how so? -Angie On Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 09:26 AM, mum2mishka wrote: > Would you agree, Kay, that treating a condition like athlete's foot > with > anything that is going to *control* it will, in fact, be suppressive? Guest guest
Homeopathic remedies may be diluted to where there is no evidence of the original substance left, but that's precisely what makes homeopathy so powerful. Homeopathy is energy medicine and works on the body as such. Have you read a materia medica that tells the various symptoms associated with specific remedies? A dissimilar remedy, or one in which the potency or dosage is too strong can elicit any of those symptoms contained in the MM for that particular remedy. Aggravations can be very serious, especially in a person who's lifeforce is especially sensitive or weak. And a homeopath won't know that until a remedy is given. There are thousands of remedies and it takes a skilled homeopath to select not only the proper remedy, but proper potency and dose. Proper case management is crucial. Dry doses or a remedy repeated too soon can also lead to uncomfortable or dangerous aggravations. Homeopathy can also be suppressive if used incorrectly. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I HIGHLY recommend Sheri N's Intro to Homeopathy course. Even if you don't plan on prescribing remedies for acute issues for yourself or your family, but only plan to be treated by a professional homeopath, it's so important to understand the basics of homeopathy. Here is an EXCELLENT article titled, " Can Homeopathy Be Dangerous " by Little, one of the world's finest homeopaths: http://www.simillimum.com/education/little-library/homoeopathic-philosophy/chd/a\ rticle.php HTH Kay Re: best ways to stop athletes feet? > This is one of the problems I'm seeing the homeopath for. > > But, about the statement: " homeopathy can be dangerous when used > incorrectly " :, how so? -Angie
Guest guest
I have an ongoing fight against this fungus, probably due to my running. Two things have helped me immensely. 1) Making sure there is plenty of room in my toe box (all shoes) for proper blood circulation. 2) Putting Tea Tree oil on the toes twice a day at the least sign of infection. New to holistic thinking, I'm not sure if Tea Tree oil has any harmful side effects but it has helped with the fungus.
Guest guest
Tea Tree oil is suppressive. Sheri N. has discussed this many times in the past. You can do a search in the archives to read about the dangers of tea tree oil in past posts.
