Guest guest
Ok, go ahead and call me evil, but I am really hoping for a West Nile Vaccine to be marketed soon. We bought a house last week and found out, after the fact, that they spray for mosquitoes, WEEKLY! I refuse to live there. It is a fixer upper and our plan now is to fix it up and sell it. I have been researching the chemicals and their side effects, it is at the same level, if not worse than the damage done by vaccines! At least if there were a vaccine, the spraying would probably stop and people who don't want to be exposed to chemicals will be safe. I have been emailing different anti spraying groups for help, I have spoken with owners of health food stores in the area and I have spoken with city hall, it is a horrible situation. -- Sara Proud Mama to Colin 12/07/99 Jack 8/07/
Guest guest
what is the name of the insecticide? I have done volunteer work on integrated mosquito management for 5 years now. Can you request that your property not be sprayed? Where are you located? I felt the same way upon finding out that our property had been sprayed without our knowledge (it had been sprayed in the middle of the night and it was not put in the newspaper) and without our consent (this happened about 4 years ago). Go to www.beyondpesticides.org and request to join AIMM (US activist group for alternatives to mosquito spraying). Guest guest
I would *love* to know how to reduce/stop bug spraying! It bothers me that I *have* to breathe that stuff. They have all these smoking bans now, because of everyone's right for fresh/clean air (which is great!), but what about these chemical sprays? I would be willing to sign a petition, etc. to reduce this stuff. > > Ok, go ahead and call me evil, but I am really hoping for a West Nile Vaccine to be marketed soon. Guest guest
if you are in the US and you are referring to mosquito spraying, go to www.beyondpesticides.org and they have a ton of stuff on alternatives to spraying as well as what you can do to take action in your area. I have been a member for around 5 years now and they are a great bunch of folks. Re: West Nile Vaccine > I would *love* to know how to reduce/stop bug spraying! Guest guest
I understand how frustarating it would be and that wish seems to make sense but we know a vaccine is not the answer........................... the answer is to stop spraying - pesticide companies love this way to sell their product. Hvae you contact nospray.org? I know they are trying very hard. The only answer I know is to move and move now no matter what it takes. Yes, it is very very bad.......................... Guest guest
Oh, I know that a vaccine isn't an answer for WNV, but it would probably make people feel safe about not spraying. Yep, I have contacted NoSpray, they forwarded my email to others who could help. There is no way that we are moving in there as long as the spraying is going on. The house that we bought is a " fixer upper " and we are now planning on selling it when we are done. I really liked the community, but my childrens' health is more important. -- Sara Proud Mama to Colin 12/07/99 Jack 8/07/02 --------- West Nile Vaccine > > >> Ok, go ahead and call me evil, but I am really hoping for a West Nile >Vaccine to be marketed soon. Guest guest
I don't know about where you are, but I do know that in Michigan and New York, there is a No Spray list that you can be put on where they won't spray your property. I was told by some people who are on it that it cuts it down a bit -- Sara Proud Mama to Colin 12/07/99 Jack 8/07/02 -------------- Original message -------------- From: " " <j-a-devoss@...> I would *love* to know how to reduce/stop bug spraying!
