Guest guest
Steve, it is the first time that I read that you could have HHV6 and still test negative. To my knowledge and according to what Dr. Enladner, Dr. De Meirleir and Dr. Cheney say, this might happen with bacterias (mycoplasmas, chlamydias, Lyme, etc...) but not with viruses unless you were infected very very recently. In that case you won't have the symptoms yet, like it happens with HIV and other viruses. By the way, it's always better to check positivity or negativity at least two or three times on a certain period of time which should not be too long and not too short, like one year or so. Last, viruses could also reactivate, instead bacterias cannot. If you catch them again it means that you came in contact with the bacteria again, but not that the bacterias you have in your body wake up. Cheers, Massimo article on Dr. Montoya's work in The Press Democrat (Sonoma County,CA) This article in today's newspaper says Dr. Montoya of Stanford is curing 85% of CFS patients who have both HHV6 and EBV. He's doing it with a 6 month Valgancyclovir (Valcyte?) treatment. I wonder how many of us have this combination of these two viruses? I know you can test negative for HHV6 on even the most sensitive lab tests and still have it. I don't know if this is true of EBV. Has anyone been on this treatment? I read there are risks to using Valcyte, but none have been reported in the Montoya-Stanford study press reports. Al

Guest guest
Hi Al, Can't believe that price. It's $30.00 a pill? Outrageous. I think I'll wait until a generic comes out. I wonder if you could get it cheaper in Canada? Guest guest
this link is so long that i don't think you can just click on it to get to the article. if you copy and paste the whole thing including the unhighlighted part into your search field - where you type in websites - it should work. http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article? Guest guest
okay, i just tried this again and it still wasn't working for me. but i found a way to make it work. first copy and paste the " highlighted " portion of the link, and then copy and paste the unhighlighted portion into your search field. http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article? AID=/20070130/NEWS/701300403 & SearchID=7327075078564 if that doesn't work or seems too complicated, then go to the main page of the newspaper and click on " search this site " and then in " story search " type " montoya " . that should find the article for you. here is the main page: http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/ thanks bill > > > > > > This article in today's newspaper says Dr. Montoya of Stanford is > > curing 85% of CFS patients who have both HHV6 and EBV.
