Sue - Herxing is a reaction that you get when you have massive die-off of virus'

or bacteria in the blood. I'm sure the severity and symptoms differ from person

to person, but it's a general feeling of being ill.

What I don't understand is when I was younger and took abx's for a sinus

infection, I

NEVER " herxed " . Or when I took antibiotics for acne in my teens...never any

herxing.

If I'm not mistaken, herxing usually occurs in PWCs when there has

been no immune response, and then something occurs which allows your

immune system to start responding to pathogens. If your immune system

is already working (such as how you knew you had a sinus infection)

then the bacteria were already being killed and your immune response

was activated prior to your taking the abx.
