Guest guest
Louella, Think this is supposed to be on the Yasko list but I will answer it here also since you asked for it here. I am struggling with it of course, it is extremely complicated & expensive & you need to spend a lot of time studying the protocol & experimenting on what will work for you. It is not an easy path. A lot of times I feel I am on a dark path in the woods with only a few trialmarkers. But as far as I can tell so far, this is the only path to actually get to the sources of the bodies problems & away to rebuild & maintain my health. I noticed a different in just the first few months by eliminating calcium which is an exitotoxin & getting my ammonia level down by limiting my protein intake. I just had some major Nickel excretion & lower levels of other heavy metals. My GABA Glutamate is in balance as far as I can tell & my Ammonia & & protein are low enough so I am not having a lot of brainfog or headaches etc like I did before this program. I had that very powerful Viral episode that brought out & dealt with & detoxed a lot of viruses in my system. I have had to work many months on my stomach gut & bowel problems but they are much better now also. But I just spent the last several weeks adjusting just one extra supplement. First I only took 1/2 a tablet, then had detox symptoms that I could not handle & so took it down to 1/4 tablet. But I had severe burning rashes. It could have been from foods or other supplements, but I stopped that one supplement & luckily the rash went away. But because I need this supplement, I will start again on 1/8 tab every other day & see if that works. I am paying for the testing Dr. Yasko recommends through her so she can analyze the results for me. That helps a lot knowing what is going on. I get help sometimes from Parents on the Autism Answer site & also a few other CFIDS patients but mostly reading & studying & figuring it out by myself. My Drs. are happy I am on this program but do not have the time to learn the protocol. I have a LOT of unanswered questions that can be frustrating. But I have enough of the basic information to do the program & I ask for help when I really need it. I may not get it & most of the time I have to study & figure it out on my own though. I get little bits & nuggets of info by reading the postings on the Austism answer site, & you can buy or borrow videos & books to study. There is really a lot of info to read free online about it. But you really need to have patience & comitment & time to do this program. I do not have the $$ but am just putting it all on a credit card. I am paying extra for some RNA products because I do not tolerate the less expensive herbs she recommends very well. I also live alone & have no help so I cannot let myself become too disabled by detoxing to do basic selfcare. So I am also taking the herbs, but having to take small amounts & rotating them. It is overwhelming & frustrating if you let it be. Dr. Yasko is putting out the information as quickly as she can to the best of her ability. They are updating constantly to make it work better & she is doing more DVD's & books all the time. The thing you have to remember is, this is all cutting edge research applied right away. It has not had the time to be better organized nor learned by a lot of Drs. yet. If you want to wait a few years till the process of learning & doing it is made a little easier, then by all means do so. I just do not want to wait any longer after being ill for 24 yrs. I am going to do this now even though it is difficult. I have noticed a lot less of my previous disabling symptoms, I feel stronger & have more good days. When I am not feeling well from symptoms, I know what is going on & there are ways to minimize the detox effects. But you have to go through the detox to get your body functioning again. How quickly is up to you, what you can handle. But she prefers a slower gentler longer term approach. I have to constantly curb my natural reaction to speed up the process & listen to my body. I hope I have answered your questions. C J
Guest guest
hi CJ I was interested in your comments that the Yasko protocol is working for u, esp. since others in the CFS/Yasko group say they are struggling with it. Can u say what steps have yielded concrete improvements, and whether you are flying solo on this .. or have the help of an educated doc? tnx louella __________________________________________________
