Yes, there are parents who no doubt injure their children in order to get attention for themselves, but they are child abusers, plain and simple. Has Prof Meadow's long-history of false accusations of Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy ever saved ANY child? That is the question. Did he just make one mistake in thie particular case or was he mistaken - intentionally or by accident - in all of the over 100 cases in which he testifed? It is time for the media to stop being apologists for people like this whose mistakes ruin lives - and time for them to start actually doing their jobs of thoroughly investigating and reporting fairly on these issues.
