Guest guest
: What a heart-wrenching story. Looking back I see it in one (maybe 2) of my step-children. Dutiful stepmom took them in for all the jabs and sugar cubes and whatever crap they were handing out. I just thought, at the time, they didn't like having a new mom and were being horrible because of it. But now I see many signs of " damage " . If I started beating myself up now I would never stop. My grand-nephew is (what I perceive) in the Asperger spectrum. I have purchased several of Temple Grandin's books and you might like to look there. Temple is autistic and functions because of meds but she has a unique insight into autism and its many faces. Do a google and then check at Amazon. Being armed with all the knowledge you can garner is a big help in itself. Beverle
Guest guest
Oh , you poor thing. Is there any way to get the doctor to support you in filing a vaccine injury claim? I mean if he said don't vax her any more, obviously he realized that the child had a terrible reaction! Sheri B. <dboskma@...> wrote: Hi after reading the below I have some thoughts and questions > vaccine-induced encephalitis - the varying degrees of the encephalitis > range from: > 1. irritability > 2. intractable crying > 3. seizures > 4. hyperactivity > 5. When she was born I didn't know all the stuff surrounding vaccinations and just did what everybody else did. At the first vax at 3mos she didn't really react much. She was irritated and slept almost 24 hours. According to the docs. normal reaction. I accepted that. The next vax ended up with a different situation. For 24 hours I couldn't touch her without her screaming like hell. The rest of the time she made some humming type of sound that made the chills go down my spine. Like she was in severe pain. She has a heavy fever. I called the doc and the doc told me that this can happen and not to worry unless it lasted more than 24 hours. It didn't. I still felt terrible about it and started reading more and more. I tried talking to her dad about it, but he was of the opinion this was the way it was supposed to be and when the doc said nothing was wrong then nothing was wrong. So I was even stupid enough to take her in for her next set of vax. Then the whole scene of the time before repeated itself, but then lasted 48 hours. Our doc then told me to not vax again. I started reading like an idiot and decided to never vax another child again. I still am not sure what happened to her and if we can fix anything with homeopathy, even though I learned a lot about it myself in the last years. Before she went to school she could read and write a bit and was pretty good at math. They wanted her to do things different in school than her brain worked, so 3,5 years later she couldn't do anything anymore. They had her tested and came up with signs of autism, but not fully so no diagnosis. They also saw a lot of signs of ADHD and hyperactivity, but not enough for a diagnosis. I am happy that she didn't get any of these labels, except for probably dyslexia. We took her out of school so she can learn in her own way which is working out better than it did in school. We have found out in the meantime that she is gifted. I wonder if this what I described before is encephalitis. I am pretty sure. And if anyone knows how the damage that has no doubt occured can be helped to repair? I have visited a classical homeopath with her, and we had some meds, but we were told it was impossible to fully get repaired. I would like to find more ways of repair as we do know that her behaviour is different from other children and I would like to see her get better again, she also wants it, as she notices her own inabilities with friends and wants to be cured. Thanks for any help.
Guest guest
Temple Grandin is one of the first autistics to bring us into the mind and body of those who live with this difficult disorder. She is very articulate and insightful, but we must remember she has an IQ of 140 which is by no means " typical " for this population. I love the way she explains autistic Children/adults as having " specialized " brains and having no time for idle chit chat. I think that's her child-like way of explaining, at least in part, the social deficit that exists among them. Temple did grow up with the priveledge of having a very committed and insightful mother who hired a nanny that felt she work with her as she had already had experience working with a little boy who displayed the same characteristics. I have been meaning to read more of her facinating interviews myself. I think the best bit of info I picked up from Miss Grandin, was to find your childs talents and encourage them all the way. There will be a future in the work force for those with " specialized " abilities, so as parents, it is our job to see the gifts as early as possible and nourish them. Anita " Beverle G. Guest guest
Hey Anita, I don't know anything about Temple Grandin (but would like to). I have heard, however, that autistic children and children on the spectrum are usually QUITE intelligent (my nephew is three and can read, for example). Have even heard that if this is a genetic predisposition that it might fall on genes dealing with intelligence. Has anyone heard this? Sheri B. Guest guest
Hello there Sheri, I think it is a result of brain damage in that where there is a major deficit, a surplus exisits. Think of a how keen a blind persons sense of smell is, though I'm not sure that's the best example I could use. I do know that children with savant abilities lose or diminish the gift as they begin to progress in other areas. I have read stats indicating a large percentage of autism is accompanied by mental retardation of varying degrees. It is true, however, many enjoy a high level of intelligence. I was told by the school psychologist that anything over 100 is considered above average. 140 IQ is really quite rare. :~) Anita " Sheri B. Guest guest
Oh Diane, that 24hr period of being unable to touch your baby without her screaming must have been so frightening for you. One minute of it would be too long. When can you have her evaluated again? To be honest, I do not feel like a poor thing at all, to the contrary, I have to fight for her and help her get as healed as we possibly can. Its my daughter who is the victim. On the filing a claim issue: This happened in The Netherlands and I asked the doc. about it. There is no possiblity for filing a claim, as they request you to sign " to agree " , but when read the piece it basically meant a waiver of all rights. Nobody tells you that. Furthermore only doctors can get a registration done at the RIVM, not an individual. My doc. told me back then that there is very little use in trying it. He tried before, but it has to be 100% sure that the illness or whatever came from the vax., which is virtually impossible to prove he noticed. So I had to let that go. Cheers,
Guest guest
I have just been reading a bit on the website of the RIVM and the related RVP website. Literally is written there: " De relatie tussen een reactie en de vaccinatie kan echter nooit met zekerheid worden vastgesteld. " Which means so much as: One can never be certain about the relation between the vaccination and the reaction. When will they get a brain. Cheers, > > Hi Sheri, > > > Oh , you poor thing. > > > > Is there any way to get the doctor to support you in filing a > > vaccine injury claim? Guest guest
Hi Anita, It was horror yes, especially when we called the doc and the doc said there was nothing he could do and that this was a " normal " reaction. Some paracetamol would help. It didn't of course. It simply got her a little less hot. We live in the UK now and I am not too familiar with homeopaths etc. around here yet. We live in the area of Aldershot, so if anyone can point me to a good homeopath that would be able to help, that would be wonderful. Thanks, > Oh Diane, that 24hr period of being unable to touch your baby without her screaming must have been so frightening for you. One minute of it would be too long. Guest guest
Hello Let me start with that I don't know much about Autism only what I read on Sheri's site. But I am getting to know some mothers who's child is diagnosed with Autism and never received any vaccination? So I was pondering. Can this Autism start in utero? What about the rogham shot while pregnant? What about all the ultrasounds during pregnancy, especially with high risk pregnancies? What about the epidural/spinal during labour? I only read one study on epidurals during childbirth. This study says that epidurals can cause breastfeeding problems and babies can have the medication in their system up to 6 weeks postpartum. Unfortunately the study was never finish as the researcher lost all the founding. I wonder why? What about the vitamin K shot? As a doula I see this given to the baby so fast that the mother/partner won't even see it. Mom only gets back a crying baby. I had a mother bullied into VitK shot when she refuse by threatening her that they will report her to the Children's Aid Society (CPS in Canada) and she will loose her baby. It could just be my motherly instinct or it could be that my theories could have some truth to it. If any of you can direct me to any web site or researches on these theories I would greatly appreciate it. Guest guest
Timea, YES, a mother's toxicity plays a huge part in whether or not her baby becomes autistic. You are correct. Sheri B.
