Guest guest
Roween, Don't know if you regularly give Audrey probiotics, but I'm becoming increasingly convinced that this helps with all sorts of digestive issues. Do a Google and you'll find that there are " even " peer-reviewed studies now that indicate that this does help. There have been numerous rounds of vomiting/diarrhea stuff at my two older childrens' school and my kids have not once succombed to it (as I knock on wood for good luck). Just a thought! : ) Sheri B. --------------------------------- Photos Got holiday prints? See all the ways to get quality prints in your hands ASAP. Guest guest
hi sheri, thanks for the suggestion... i really believe probiotics are amazing. audrey can not tolerate the brand i have, but i started to give her it when this happened because i figured a behaviour reaction was better than her getting very sick!!! just getting ready to do an order from kirkmans in the usa as i have heard they are the best tolerated for children as sensitive as audrey (adhd or autism). audrey has had a great day - she has complained of a sore tummy on and off but no other symptoms, no fever, runny stools or temp (and to be honest - sore tummies are not unusual for her as she suffers digestive problems often - so it could be nothing or it could even be the probiotic). she has been super happy (which is also not nec the norm around her with all her food sensitivities) - so all is well! im hoping things will be much the same tomorrow... i will do a post for sure, let you know. tomorrow i will keep up transfer factor, probiotics and tissue salts. i also gave her double doses of five mushrooms and chlorella the last two days for detox, to help clear out any bacteria... all of this is sure to have had an impact (not to mention me telling her she is healthy and strong - she probably thinks im crazy!). im sure things will be fine but was just wanting to be prepared incase! i appreciate everyones input! roweena x On 21/01/2006, at 11:33 PM, Sheri B. wrote: > Roween, > > Don't know if you regularly give Audrey probiotics, but I'm > becoming increasingly convinced that this helps with all sorts of > digestive issues. Guest guest
hi anita, i use 'new era' from the uk. 2 whenever i think of it - maybe five times yesterday (around every two hours). we have used these since she was only months old and have found them to be very effective in keeping temp under control - placebo too - she says they make her feel better. she will ask for them when she is not feeling well!!! did you find them useful for henry? she seems great today too so my feeling that is even though she has a compromised digestive system - this would normally be her weakness as far as health problems go, she can tolerate only 10 foods (which is why i was so concerned)... she is going to be fine. in 10 hours - it will have been 72 hours since she ate the suspect chicken which is the max time suggested for the food poisioning to occur... so fingers crossed we stay on track! roweena x On 22/01/2006, at 6:29 AM, Anita Durney wrote: > Hi Roweena, >  I used to use tissue salts on Henry. Guest guest
Roweena - there are 12 tissue salts that I know of. Which ones and what potencies are you giving her? I don't know if they helped Henry as they were part of a protocol; something I no longer believe in. Protocols involve a 'catch all' combination of things making it impossible to know what the healing agent or agents are. I don't know that it is wise to use tissue salts as a placebo as they are not an innocuous substance. They should be prescribed by a qualified caregiver I think. Guest guest
i misunderstood your question... new era is the brand we use and by far the best i have tried... she is taking ferr phos and calc phos at the moment because they match her symptoms. i have been using them for close to 10 years for myself. my homeopath at first advised of which one was appropriate for my symptoms but i have not needed his advise for many years. i refer to a book and match the symptoms to the appropriate tissue salt (although in many instance i know which one is required). he encourages me to take control of our health and says my instincts when it comes to this stuff are always spot on. we use them as soon as we see signs of ill health and many times never need a remedy - i think they are really great and have kept us away from seeing doctors for many years! so i didnt mean i give her any which one to make her 'feel' like she is better - i give her the appropriate one but its funny how she associates them with making her feel better, so i know when she is not well because she will ask for them because she says they make her feel better - so that is why i referred to them having possible placebo affect! roweena x On 22/01/2006, at 8:46 AM, Anita Durney wrote: > Roweena - there are 12 tissue salts that I know of. Guest guest
Oh, I see what you mean about the placebo effect Roweena. Ferr.Phos is considered the pre-eminent biochemic first aid addressing coughs colds, chills, inflamation, congestion, fever, headache. It's an oxygen carrier. Calc.Phos. is considered the ideal tonic addressing chilblains, simple anaemia, impaired digestion, teething and one other I can't make out, something assimilation (looks like the word anal) Dr.Carley had him on high potencies of Kali.Phos., Mag.Phos., Bioplasma which is a combination of all 12 cell salts and Calc.Flour. for his decaying teeth. She also told me to use them as I see fit, but basically I stopped after the 2 month protocol was over. Sheri N. gave me the thumbs down mostly I think because of the high potency. I really don't know much about it Roweena, I was curious to know how they worked for Audrey. Have you ever taken her off them to see how she would do without? Guest guest
the potency is only 6X. what potency was henry on? i use them at the onset of illness and like i said - she does great - we usually start with these and if symptoms persist or progress we move on to a remedy but this is very rarely needed. i certainly dont use them on a daily basis or even a weekly basis as she is mostly very healthy. do you think this is a problem? i dont know why i would have to stop using them? do you have info on why sheri gave them the thumbs down? roweena x On 22/01/2006, at 10:37 AM, Anita Durney wrote: > Oh, I see what you mean about the placebo effect Roweena. >   >   Ferr.Phos is considered the pre-eminent biochemic first aid > addressing coughs colds, chills, inflamation, congestion, fever, > headache. Guest guest
She had him on 30x three times a day during the protocol and suggested once a day thereafter which I didn't do. Since I'm no expert, I really can't comment on whether or not it's good or bad, but I would lean toward not a problem, especially that the potency is so low and you don't administer every day. I mean it sounds reasonable and it was prescribed by a homeopath. Sorry to place doubt, it's just that you can't be too careful. :~) Anita Roweena Timson <roweena@...> wrote: the potency is only 6X. what potency was henry on? i use them at the onset of illness and like i said - she does great - we usually start with these and if symptoms persist or progress we move on to a remedy but this is very rarely needed. i certainly dont use them on a daily basis or even a weekly basis as she is mostly very healthy. do you think this is a problem? i dont know why i would have to stop using them? do you have info on why sheri gave them the thumbs down? roweena x On 22/01/2006, at 10:37 AM, Anita Durney wrote: > Oh, I see what you mean about the placebo effect Roweena. >   >   Ferr.Phos is considered the pre-eminent biochemic first aid > addressing coughs colds, chills, inflamation, congestion, fever, > headache. And to routinely do anything like that is asking for trouble. I am not a fan of cell salts but haven't used them much. I really look for the one remedy that matches the symptom pciture. Some people use cell salts that way and think that all can be healed just with those salts. I do think that.
