BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF THESE PEOPLE!THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE!!! next time,if they

come back, insist that if they wanna see your son, they can talk to him and

you OUTSIDE.The minute they get in the house, they start judging you and

finding things wrong. The constitution states there can be no search and

seizure without a warrant,so they can't come in uninvited, and when you do

talk to them, try to have someone there with you. They like to lie ALOT,and if

caught in a mistake, they will NEVER admit to being wrong, even if their

mistakes tear up a family.I'm gonna prviately email you my phone number or

you can send me yours and I will talk to you and let you my experince with

them.

Whenever you talk to them, have at least a digital recorder or something

simular, perhaps a videocamera as well documenting everything they say and do.

Some of these workers will twist words and will lie to suit their needs.

I wish you the best in dealing with them.

I really like the idea of keeping them outside as much as possible.

The question to ask is can they legally force you to give personal medical

information out? I dont think they can but you need to find out.

CALL A LAWYER! Do NOT let them in and do NOT tell them anything. You don't

have to let them in without a warrant, so call that lawyer asap! I would also

try to get ahold of the second lead tests. Did you have any help in the lead

treatment, like a homeopath? If so, then that counts as doing something.

They take advantage of the fact that not many people know exactly what their

rights are, that is why a lawyer is important.

our old neighbor is trying to get us into trouble. every time our

children are making noise like playing and laughing he is kicking our

door. once my hubby came home from shopping, and didn't realize the

door closed behind him, leaving Tzippy (our 2 year old daughter)

outside. I am deaf, so I didn't hear anything until our neighbor

banged our door.

Today 2 CPS ladies come in, they asked for names, and asked for name

of doctor and said we have a report of neglecting children by sitting

by computer all day and locking children outside.

They asked where our children sleep, who is the doctor

gosh , if they find out we are not going to he doctor routinely for

immunizations then what?

my daughter was diagnosed with high lead in her blood and we treated

her naturally and checked her blood again in the state's blood

checking but never told me the results..

so now if they find we did 'nothing' didn't take the doctor's medicine

for lead...

what can we do? they want to come again to see our older son, age 4.

he wasn't home as he had playdate with his best friend.

someone told me that we tell them to speak with our counselor. they

ca'nt do anything when they are told this.

we called cops harassment complaint. The cops told me when the CPS

ladies come to my home tmw to see our older son, don't sign the paepr

form. tell them I need interpreter (we are hearing impaired). and I

will say they need to speak with my counselor.

we are reported as me using the computer all of the time while

ignoring and neglecting my children. Its not true. I am leaving the

computer online because we are deaf, and people sometimes instant

message us so for us its like a phone.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I used to work for CPS in

Indiana for about 3 years and I would go on investigations. What you

described is not child abuse in anyway, I am actually surprised they

even took a report and came out to your home. The reports are usually

screened pretty well before sending someone out.

Unfortunately is all depends on the worker that is called to your home.

The questions they asked you are very weird; I never asked who a child's

doctor was unless the report was about physical abuse. Did they show

you ID and give you a card?? I would explain about your neighbor and

hopefully they will understand and the neighbor will be flagged for

calling in false child abuse report (which is a criminal offense). I

would consult with an attorney, even though I do not think you are in

any danger.

On another note, what happened with your daughter? What treatment did

you use and what was her lead level & how is she doing now.

Good luck and try not to worry to much.

Sincerely

Townes

The neighbor is trying to make us look bad as we are abusing and

neglecting our children. he probably told them we are beating them up

as they cry alot, which is NOT true. He also brought the incident when

my daughter was outside when my husband came from shopping not

realizing the door slammed behind him leaving her behind. so he made

it as a proof we are locking our children outside.

sometimes as any siblings, my children fight and my daughter is crying

about anything. For example if my son grabbs her toy, she comes to me

wailing.

yes they came showed their ID card.

and we explained about our neighbor but they expressed disinterest.

they said they are not involved wiht the source of the complaint. they

got complaint and their job is to take care of it.

about the lead level, we got her tested again in the summer by health

department that offered free lead testing. But they never contacted us

for the results, and we dont' know whom to contact for the results.

What could we do?

I'm so sorry that you all are involved in this!! CPS is absolutely horrible,

aweful, dreadful, terrible!!!! Yes, of course there are the exceptions when

they've actually done some good, but as I said, in my experience this is the

exception. Of course I also live in Florida...the worst state for children

to live in if they're involved with the gov't in any way (school, cps,

medicaid, etc.). Not to completely freak you out, but my friend's 6 month

old baby was taken away from her for three days, without warning, because

there was a possibility that she was going to be evicted.

My advice as far as the doctor goes is know your rights. Don't just say you

know that it's legal to do this or that, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! Find out what

statues they are, have documents ready, etc. If you sound like you know what

you're talking about and have " evidence " to back it up, they will back down.

And for future reference regarding medicine, when my son's ped. has

recommended antibiotics of some sort, I've always had the prescriptions

filled, and I keep the receipts to prove it. I was scared too much with my

friend's situation to be lazy about documentation.

Oh and yes, RECORD EVERYTHING! if possible, with a video tape. That is what

my friend did and that's the way she was able to get her baby back.

HTH,

Devin

Dear Sara,

I have not read the other excellent responses I'm sure you've had because I

am way behind in my e-mail. Hubby and son have both been sick with the flu.

All states allow some form of exemption from vaccinations, you don't say

which state you are in, so I can't be of much more help to you in that

regard.

I have posted a great deal of information on my website regarding what to do

and what not to do when CPS comes calling. Be sure you know your rights

before attempting to deal with this situation.

Feel free to e-mail me off-list if you have any further questions. I'd be

happy to help.

Never allow them in the house without a duly signed warrant and never allow

them access to your children. Allow them to SEE the children through a

window and then take them to the doctor or other medical professional for an

exam at the earliest possible moment, to document their wellness.

Even if the police are present, they MUST have a warrant or you DO NOT have

to let them into your home.
