Guest guest
OH dear - I just went there and looks like totally new. You are right, , it seems. I have helped many get exemptions, but there is no wording now about exemptions (although it was always difficult before). Well, the go old FREE US is not free (in case some of you have just figured that out, or don't know it yet). They can do anything they want pretty much citizens and DEFINITELY can do whatever they want with immigrants. There are lots of other nice places to live in the world. Time to leave (I did) Sheri >There is a way but it takes persistance >Are you facing this? >otherwise don't want to take the time to tell how it is. > >Sheri > >At 05:19 PM 1/10/2006 -0000, you wrote: >>Has anyone knowledge if there is a way to exempt oneself (other than >>medical exemption) from being vaccinated, if one is immigrating to >>the United States? >> >>I thought all vaccines were voluntary, and the US (and UK, for that >>matter) couldn't require, only recommend, one be vaccinated. >>Further, the CDC doesn't list the US (or UK!) as a place where there >>is infectious disease problem warranting vaccination before >>immigration. Guest guest
I can't find what I posted in the past about this, but anyways. My wife went through all this and at the time we were ignorant about vaccines. I can't remember right now what paperwork she had, if any, regarding her childhood shots. They wanted to give a shot(s), but since we were trying to conceive they would not do it. Very nice people they are! Possibly a way out. Guest guest
From memory of doing the research when my hub and I were considering going back to the states, oh, about a year ago. I don't have a direct citation or anything..I just remember reading the guidelines for examining physicians and not seeing any scope for exemptions..and on the visajourney.com website it had been discussed..great site btw for learning the 'ropes' behind the paperwork nightmare that is US immigration (as well as a ton of help with the actual paperwork!) I'm sorry I can't be more specific-if I do run into a link for that file I read -where I think I remember reading that- I will post it. Gawd, memory has gone south since having !! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ , 17mos See him at <http://www.tabulas.com/~wanderings/gallery/51140/> http://www.tabulas.com/~wanderings/gallery/51140/ RE: Immigration to US, 'requirements' for vaccination tracy, what's your source for this statement? claudia
Guest guest
I have the same question but to australia or new zealand. I posted this on the otvax and healthy living list so sorry for the cross post but we're considering migrating to these countries. One acquiantance said that there must be a medical check up before visas are given and full vaccination record must be shown. Is there a way around this? I'm sure my husband and I got full shots, don't know about booster but my baby stopped at MMR. My friend had to take booster shots to get into Princeton in the United States but I'm hoping these countries have different policies.
