Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm new here with a 15.5 month old son. I glad that i found this site. I know that i will have lots of questions on my journey to find out " what happened to my son " " Something " happened to him when he was around 9 month of age. His speech halted and started regressing..ie babbling stopped. He started getting delayed in his motor development as well. One day he started jerking his head to the left..few days later something " weird " starting happening with his eyes. They would turn upward as well as jerk to the right. He went through testing for seizures and EEG , 3-d CT came back within normal range. Weeks went by and i keep saying to myself " something happened to my son..he was NOT born this way " Sorry to be so frank..but if like something just " retarded " his brain/thinking He is now 15.5 months old, with all-around delays, he has Sensory Processing Disorder, complex motor stereotypies - his arms stiffens and his face grimmaces - several times per day, speech delays, Plagiocephaly/Tort - wears helmet to correct it, low tone in the mouth - related to plagio, vision problems - getting an MRI to rule out Ocular MOtor Apraxia. He has a strong urge to mouths, chew, and lick non-eatible objects. IE chews the wood on his crib spokes. We started OT for his delays..but i'm still not seeing any improvement. He just not interested in anything. He has an obession with string/thread..will chew on a sock thread all day if i let him but will not play with toys. (Everything but the plagio happened after the 9 month mark.) Well where do i start?.his regular pedi..is not much of a help. I heard of a DAN doctor. but its not covered by insurance. I just can't get anyone to belive what i'm saying. Thanks
