its lovely to hear from you i found the whole thing a bit disjointed

i didnt really know who i should be addressing dr bently or dr

blecher and the facilities were quite poor i thought it was all very

stressful. Do you know when dr blecher is coming again and did he

discuss the cost of the helmet with you i a bit confused to be

truthful did he tell you what sort of result you would get zacs

plagio is severe his ears are very misaligned with frontal bulge etc

i came away relieved that it waSNT CRANIOCYNOSTOSIS but dont relish

the thought of more trips down there

Hi ,

I know what you mean about the facilities - i wish i

had known that i would be bathing on in the sink

- i would have taken a baby bath down!!!! ( for the

cost of £7 - you think an investment in that and a

couple of towels wouldn't break the bank!

Anyway i know what you mean about the two Dr's. As i

get it Dr Blecher is the real specialist - they are

both plastic surgeons - but Dr Blecher comes over to

train up Dr Bentley in the treatment - he will

eventually take over. They didn't mention the cost of

the helmet there but i believe it is £1000 ( not cheap

hey) but it is not yet covered on the NHS - i think we

are going to ask if we can pay in installments, as we

are just about to move up to Leeds - currently living

in Wigan. ons head is flat at the back - a pure

positional plagio case - his face is quite symmetric -

with one ear only very slightly forward - you wouldn't

really notice - his case is moderate. They did say we

should see improvement in about 5 - 8 weeks - but the

treatment would last about 5 months. I believe Dr

Blecher is next over on the 25th - he has yet to

confirm it.

We should be going down the night before and staying

in a hotel in Lambeth. I'll let you know which one -

maybe we could meet up? And perhaps eventually for

future adjustments etc - we could go down together

taking it it turns or something - it might ease the

travelling a little ? Just a thought.

Did they tell you what result they could get with Zac?

It all seems so daunting at the moment doesn't it? -

we will get through it though - so glad you wrote back

- its reassuring to know there is someone else going

through the same at the same time with the same

feelings!
