Guest guest
Wendi and Sheila I either harvest my own Hawthorne berries or get them dried from _www.ameriherb.com_ (http://www.ameriherb.com) . Then, I slow brew a tea from them by the quart/hald gallon and enjoy 1/2 cup twice a day. This was my cardiologist's preferred method, by the way. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) Posted by: " Wendi Carrillo " _tres_gatos87801@... _ (mailto:tres_gatos87801@...?Subject= Re:%20Cheney%20and%20hawthorn) _aerobaby87801 _ (aerobaby87801) Fri Nov 10, 2006 12:00 pm (PST) I don't know which brand Cheney recommends, but I take solid extract from Wise Woman Herbals. It is in a honey base and is owe so yummy. I like to take things out of the pill, as I believe digestion starts in the mouth. Good stuff! -Wendi Cheney and hawthorn Hi All, Does anyone know which brand of hawthorn Cheney recommends and at what dosage? he seems to use one that uses the leaves and flowers not the berries, don't know why. Or does anyone fond a good brand they'd recommend? Thanks in anticipation. BW, Sheila
Guest guest
Rosie I'll save you the archive search. Make a supersaturated solution of Epsom salt...... ie, dissolve Mg SO4 in just a bit of boiling water. Then, when dissolved, add the solution to your favorite skin cream. Mix it in well. You can do the same with Mg Chloride from a product like Magna Vida that I get on ebay mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) I have tried all the usual mag products and the injections as you know and can’t get on with them, but was hoping that the cream base could be a gentler way to go I’ll also search the data base on this list for mjh’s recipe. Nothing like getting back to basics.

Guest guest
you must refrigerate it, yes? Do you reheat it? Do you feel anything when you have drunk some? Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Dr. Cheney recommends MediHerb Hawthorn. Correct...not the berries. It's # M1330. Dosage for me...I've slacked off and don't have notes in hand, but it's several a day. Guest guest
Just googled that info and the only place I could find " flowering tops " instead of berries was the producer's (Standard Process) site itself. And they also mfr one that is berries. FWIW Adrienne Re: Cheney and hawthorn Hi Sheila, Dr. Cheney recommends MediHerb Hawthorn. Correct...not the berries. It's # M1330. Guest guest
Hi Adrienne, If you google MediHerb + Hawthorn, you'll find it from many sources. The Company (part of Standard Process) is trying to restrict their products to professionals only, so some sites will say that. (They ask for practioners license # or something.) But there are still some who sell it direct to customer...you can check Amazon.com or Total Health Discount Supplements, for instance. Guest guest
I did just that, and, until I came to the SP site , I thought I was seeing only the other of their products, w. berries. It was morning, maybe I missed it. Nothing like it on Amazon and the other site sells both SP versions; berries and flowering tops. The latter is full of preservatives and is way cheaper than the berries formulation. Interesting. Could it be that Cheney does not always make the best choice? Guest guest
I just read about this but using a large sheet, like an old bedsheet, to wrap yourself in. What I read was for soaking in ginger tea, but it would work with dissolved Epsom salts too. in Champaign IL Very Many thanks mjh. I already have Epsom Salts in the house so that's pretty easy to do! Guest guest
Hi Katrina, thanks for your answer and hopefully your shoulder heals fast. The DVD was the greatest thing I ever saw on CFS. Dr. Cheney gave me back so much hope and I even think about visiting the Cheney Clinic in the future if possible. His treatment approach is worth so much to me now because I'm convinced that it is the right way. Do you also use that magnesium paste? He said something like " Curtman " when he was asked about the producer. Which one do you use, what is important? Unfortunately I can't order MediHerb here. Total Health Discount doesn't ship to Germany since our stupid customs are very strict with supplements. That's why they don't have time for drug smuggling from other European countries to Germany or container ships full of faked stuff from China... What does it need to contain, is 6.68 mg/tablet of vitexin-2- rhamnoside the important value? Looking forward to your answer. Guest guest
Hello , I'm thrilled that you have seen Dr. Cheney's lecture and are heartened by his research, Cardiac findings and directions to pursue. That would also be super if you get to see him one day >>>> Do you also use that magnesium paste? <<<<< Yes >>>He said something > like " Curtman " when he was asked about the producer. Which one do you use, what is important?<<<<< He was saying from Kirkman's Lab. I use that one, and you can find them in google search. Before I knew about that, I found one in my local compounding pharmacy, and several others in google search, which use various forms of magnesium. I love the local one because it is a lovely Lavender smelling clear gel. I have no idea of it's actual effectiveness on heart, but it feels very soothing. It is " Dr. Healy's Crystal Enhanced Biogenics Magnesium Lotion " . It's yummy. I am not clear on differences in the Magnesiums, or amounts, so I focus on the Kirkman's paste since it is what Dr. Cheney suggested. About the MediHerb Hawthorn...Very sorry to hear about customs problems. I don't know if it would be different from other companies, OR if a Dr./Acupuncturist could order for you directly, or you could include prescription from them. >>>>What does it need to contain, is 6.68 mg/tablet of vitexin-2-rhamnoside the important value? Looking forward to your answer.<<<<< , I sure wish I could answer this, but I cannot. This also is not exactly what's written on the bottle. I'll put that in another post. I've been wondering how to transfer a number of SP/MH products to other brands, but mostly have not figured it out. On Hawthorn, I think it would be worth beginning (flowering tops) in any of the purest brands. If having clear cardiac failure symptoms, I think it would be worth beginning period. It isn't advice, but a guess, and what I did, and glad that I did. See if you can research the SP customs question...maybe an email to them. If you don't get through, at some point, I will call them for you... & attempt to find out...if that would be helpful.
