Guest guest
Does anyone have a high titer to this? I was feeling unusually weak and tired and was tested for this and found a very high titer to it. Has anyone received treatment for it, or used an homeopathic treatments for this. Guest guest
I remember when Fifth Disease went through our boarding school families one summer in 1994. Some elementary school kids brought it home and the adult parents got it and passed it around. It is also called " slapped cheeks " because one of the symptoms is the reddened cheeks, also erythema infectiosum or Sticker's Disease. It is probably transmitted from child-to-child through saliva or nasal discharge, the incubation period is 4-6 days although it can be 4-14 days before the first rash appears. This is the fifth childhood virus simulating measles to be described, hence the name. It is supposed to be a very mild illness beginning with the appearance of bright-red cheeks, which look as though they have been slapped, later moving to the other extremities where the rash fades with central clearing, leaving a lacelike pattern. Some children do not get a fever, which makes it hard to diagnose that they are sick, some adults and children have a headache, and even the palms of the hands or soles of the feet may be itchy. Unlike chicken pox, measles or other viral childhood illnesses, it does not seem to be as highly contagious, although we sure felt so here when we all had it and it went through the school quickly, again mostly with the adults. There is no specific treatment but it is a virus and might benefit from antiviral type meds (homeopathic or otherwise). The adults suffered different symptoms from the children. We all had the red cheeks, then the rash traveled from the head to the lower extremities. I remember my cheeks, then my chest, then my upper thighs having the rash. The worst was the aching joints and muscles! One mother got out of bed and her ankles would not support her and she collapsed to the ground, had to have her husband carry her to the bathroom. My shoulder joints ached, then it went to my hips, my knees, then my ankles slightly, along with the lacelike rash traveling, different from hives. We also had " relapses " of it after a couple of weeks, as it takes 1-3 weeks to clear your system. I believe it leaves antibodies showing you have had it (shows up positive on my tests always). The Public Health Nurse said it usually appears in Winter or Spring or with changes in temperature. Hope this helps informs you of this ailment that I had in 1994. Try lysine or oil of oregano, or any other antiviral suggestions you find work for you. Schmidt in La Selva Beach CA Paravirus B19 aka 5th Disease Does anyone have a high titer to this?
