Hi,

I posted last Thursday asking what FORM and DOSE of IM B-12 Dr. Cheney

is CURRENTLY recommending as a part of his latest treatment protocol.

Lynn was nice enough to answer that it was the hydroxycobalamin form

of B-12 (Thanks!), but I still don't know what STRENGTH of the hydroxy

B-12 to have my doc Rx OR at what DOSE and frequency it is to be

taken. Also what size syringe (cc, needle length/gauge) does Cheney

recommend? I asssume this is for IM injection in the thigh? I would

greatly appreciate the answer to this. (Just trying to get the details

right so I know what to ask my doctor for.)

Thanks!

Jim

I am not a Cheney pt. but I learned about b12 from them. I have taken it for

years, though. The dilution is 10,000/mL. in a 30mL multiple dose vial.

I have taken different doses at different times. Right now, close to daily 1.5

cc's. There is no known toxic dose. Some people say they get jittery from it. I

never took enough for that. The highest dose I have ever heard of here is 10cc's

day, divided, morning and evening.

Some folks found the preservative was a problem and they had to spend more to

get it without.

Injectible b12 is only obtained thru compounding pharmacies, and not all those

are approved to make up injectibles. The cheapest source I know of is McGuff

Compounding, in CA.

You doc will know the right size needle.

If your doc is just an ordinary basic primary care provider, be prepared for him

to refuse to write this scrip-unless you have a working relationship with

him/her already. The amount we use is still pretty much unheard of in ordinary

practice. I struggled for years to get it. One of the best things that ever

happened to me, once I got sick, anyhow.

Hi, Ive got exactly the same question right now. I saw my CFS

specialist today and he recommended me get some B12 Ampules from the

chemist so I did. (I'm in Australia and didnt need a script to get

them.. the chemist lady did ask me if I'd been recommended that by my

doctor thou before she handed them to me).

I didnt know there was different forms of this.. is there with

with the B12 Ampules???? The Ampules are Hydroxocobalamin '1000' ug

injection.

My CFS specialist didnt tell me how much to take or when.. so Im

just assuming I follow the instructions in the box???? I'd like to

hear how much others take of this?

He did tell me to do something Ive never heard of before with that

and that is to take it by mouth..swish it about my mouth with some

water before swallowing. (Im assuming being liquid, it would just

absorb better in the stomach than tabets). Ive been slightly

concerned since Ive got home that maybe I've confused things..(thou

Im sure he was talking about the B12 at the time).. Does anyone else

take this form, the Ampules via mouth?????
