Guest guest
I've come back dozens of times and told people about my recovery. People can check out all my posts in the archives, plus every couple weeks someone contacts me offline. Doris Re: Cognitive Functioning?! Guest guest
Doris, Thank you for your faithfulness. Interesting, the differing perceptions of reality, huh? It certainly is wonderful to be reminded that there IS such a thing as recovery. Adrienne Re: Cognitive Functioning?! I didnt do anything to get better except rest as soon as I started to tire and take things very easy. With time that brought me much improvement. I also avoided stress. (The thing is as soon as I got major stress in my life again, I just relapsed again but for a time there, I truely thought I'd beaten this illness and recovered!!). What I've found with my latest relapse, is that my cognitive functioning improves greatly if I go to having a fresh juice only diet. I once did that for 4 days.. juicing my own stuff and having nothing else. My head cleared so so much and I was able to think well again. It fixed my ability to understand things...but didnt fix my memory thou, so that appears to be something different again. I found some things freshly juiced had better affects on me than other things juiced... the combination of fresh beetroot, celery and apple (which I then added some freshly ground pepper too)..seemed to be the best juice combination which seemed to help me the best. (apple and carrot didnt seem to help me so much). Since I did that .. Ive since seen something online about beetroot having positive affects on many with CFS so maybe it was that beetroot. Guest guest
After I did a rigorous juicing protocol for three weeks, I felt much, much better. It may be why I am still able to work; juicing and whey protein, specifically ImmunePro. I was in real bad shape for 2-3 years, about 10 years ago before I got the juicer and found out about whey from Cheney. Nothing else has really helped, except for B-12, but that doesn't help anymore. Guest guest
Vegetable and fruit juices. All kinds. The more variety you consume, the more nutrition that you get. If you Google 'juicing', you can prob. get more info. than you need. It's worth a try- good luck, Mike C (I actually like carrot juice w/ 1/2 apple) > > > > After I did a rigorous juicing protocol for three weeks, I felt > > much, much better. If you try and be specific about what you target you will notice you will get better sooner! Regards CS

Guest guest
Does this list have a conflict-of-interest disclosure policy? In other words, do any of the members have any vested interest in selling a product of any kind, and/or discouraging any other products? Or is the leadership affilated with any cult or religion, i.e. Scientology, etc. ?
Guest guest
Hi Mike - I would be an avid juicer if it didn't screw with my adrenals and blood sugar. I use to juice alot in the mornings. I'd have exactly what you said, carrot and apples, and then in the evenings I would do a veggie mix. Problem was, by 10am I would have a hypoglycemic crash so bad I thought I was going to pass out. I wish I did not have this problem. Now, I'm stuck having to do high protein, which yes, I feel better on, but I REALLY miss juicing.. Kind Regards, Wendi Re: Cognitive Functioning? ! Guest guest
I've heard that if you teach worms to run mazes and then you 'juice' them up and feed them to other worms, those worms somehow improve their ability to run those mazes... Guest guest
I would crash on carrots and apples, too. My best juicing combo is carrot beets ginger garlic parsley cucumber dandelion greens, kale or collards but not spinach nettles when in season mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/)
Guest guest
My ex sister-in-law put me in touch w/ someone who had improved w/ CFS, and they lived in Tulsa, OK. The PWC faxed me juicing info. from a Dr. Robbins in Tulsa. He is an MD, w/ a degree from Puerto Rico or somewhere (Google ' Robbins'). The PWC faxed me about 25 pages of juicing info. which I gave to a neighbor who died of colon cancer about five years ago. So I don't have the info. anymore. But it is not complicated. The juicing program is just a cleansing program that you stay on for up to a month. The problem is that you don't get anything to chew on, but there are some things you can chew, I just don't remember. I would think though that there is someone on this list who has done the juicing thing more recently who could provide better info. I also think Robbins has a book out that may cost only $5-6 now. Akers took her juicer w/ her to soccer games. Juicing is analgous to training for athletics, the better and longer that you stick to it, the better you will be, although this may not work for everyone. I bot a Champion juicer at Whole Foods, but there are probably a lot cheaper ones. Google 'juicing' and ' Robbins' and you can get a lot better info. than that which my memory is able to provide. Hope this helps, Mike C In , " Adrienne G. Guest guest
I would say juicing is not for everyone, but in your situation, Wendi, you might be able to do a little juicing along with bacon and eggs in the morning so you would get your protein. Guest guest
When will people stop talking about Akers? Guest guest
Hi Bob, It has irritated me too when has been shown as poster child for ME/CFS. However, she did not just tough it through or fight her way back. She collapsed many times on the field, had Migraines, cried in the showers, had to have IVs between plays, even then could not get out to get her Gold medal, and had to retire from Soccor, when at peak of career...the World's Greatest Player in Women's soccor. I don't know her condition, and I think she does speaking engagements, much about her religious faith. She hid her illness allot, and may still do that, and may be damaged fom those years. I could not have done what she did, but did not begin a top athlete, or have IVs and other top care from the beginning. .. The 1st four years, I could push through to hike, dance, or swim, then crash. {Thusly, the next many years, mostly bedridden, and multiply injured now.} Now, with dozens of treatments daily, I can appear perfectly normal, tho I'm very injured in all systems, for a couple of hours most days...sometimes a few hours. Constantly in pain, paying for it in between, and hopelessly brain-scrambled. {I left my purse at a stranger (friend of friend's) house last night, today had no idea where it was, and they were told I do that " all the time " . So, maybe she has a lighter case, but CFS did end her career with allot of suffering, she has top treatments, and who knows what's behind the scene...?
