Guest guest
Sue Change your diet so that your digestive system is in tip top shape for a while. Then, add some beets and dandelion greens to your diet to begin to cleanse and heal your liver. This takes time and 'detoxing' too fast can be uncomfortable. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) Posted by: " sb2boys " _sb2boys@... _ (mailto:sb2boys@...?Subject= Re:%20How%20do%20you%20detox?) _sb2boys _ (sb2boys) Sun Oct 15, 2006 3:11 pm (PST) I've seen messages here that mention that it's good to detox. Guest guest
Hi Sue B., I think Sherry 's book " Detoxify or Die " is a very good, detailed guide to detoxing and how to do it. I was at my dentist's office the other day and was surprised to see that book and several others written by Dr. . I'm doing her program as best I can now. If you can't afford a FIR sauna I can tell you a very cheap way to do the same thing in your own house for under a couple hundred bucks. Let me know. I can send you the plans. If you research saunas you'll find that the consenses is that it's by far and away the most efficient way to detox. Unless it's biotoxins from lyme or mold, etc. Then reading " Mold Warriars " might be the way to go. Edy Re: How do you detox? I've seen messages here that mention that it's good to detox. Guest guest
Hi Steve, Fasting can help some people with CFS, although others may react adversely. I would not discourage you from exploring such a treatment, but I would suggest being careful and breaking the fast if you are not doing well. No one should water fast more than 48 hours without supervison from those experienced in this area. There is a referral list of doctors that do this at http://www.iahp.net/refer.htm Blake Re: How do you detox? I'm planning a 7 day fast in December. Has anyone here had any success with fasting? Guest guest
I just get very hungry weak and light-headed and depressed. I sure wouldn't do it in any case in the midst of winter, unless you have big energy in winter. Adrienne Re: How do you detox? I'm planning a 7 day fast in December. This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. If you are interested in any treatment discussed here, please consult your doctor. Guest guest
Unfortunately it seems many of the things that are helpful in other conditions are harmful in CFS. Like vigorous exercise. That couldn't be bad, right? Fasting is contraindicated in people with mitochondrial disorders. I think many people with CFS have secondary mito dysfunction at least, and some have an undiagnosed adult onset primary mito disease. If your fasting starts harming you due to a mito problem and a serious metabolic crisis develops, your average alt med practitioner may tell you that your deterioration is a just " detox reaction, " and a good thing. Someone else mentioned Sherry , and I think her detox suggestion of FIR saunas for detox is more useful. > > > > > > In a message dated 15/10/2006 23:17:49 GMT Standard Time, > sb2boys@ > > writes: > > > > I've seen messages here that mention that it's good to detox. Guest guest
Hi Blake, The fast I will be trying will be completely supervised, and will include colonics, herbs, water, and vegetable broth... maybe it's not a true " fast " , but close enough for me! cheers, Steve > > Hi Steve, > > Fasting can help some people with CFS, although others may react adversely. Guest guest
Hi Steve, While this is not a true fast (distilled water only), I think including herbs and juices is probably a better option for someone with CFS. Someone pointed out that those with mitochondrial issues should not fast. I also think those with thyroid/adrenal issues (which is all of us), will striggle to fast. I tried a water fast a few years ago and had to quit after 3 days as I had such a severe drop of energy/strength. Blake Re: How do you detox?
