Guest guest
A while back someone on this list mentioned ordering some buffalo heart for herself, and this is one of the things that is supposed to be particularly good for -0-types. I'm curious if this person did this for that reason? ***That was me, and no,not in the least due to thoughts of blood type. Buffalo is just real healthy meat, and heart specifically thinking it would be good for my heart. I think my blood type is AB; that's the rarest of the four, yes? Guest guest
I have the book, I'm an O also, but I found out that monkeys and apes have different blood groups also, which shoots his thesis that human blood groups differentiated recently as far as I'm concerned. The author attempts to get around this objection by citing convergent evolution but I find that less likely than that some common ancestor developed differentiated blood groups not at all recently. Probably the assertion that some blood groups handle things differently is still valid, like O being more susceptible to diarrhea type diseases. Don't know what to think about the food theories, though. Seems more likely to me that the paleolithic O diet is in fact better for everyone, but I can't pretend to be an expert. > > I just read the newer book Live Right 4 Your Type (there is an even > newer one devoted to fatigue and your type) after years ago reading > and being intrigued by Eat Right for your type. Guest guest
'Eat right for your type' is a nonrecommended book on the quackwatch website. Guest guest
Although I agree (as I posted earlier) that the ERFYT diet has been dismissed by many as having no proof, etc., -- with all due sincere respect, the LAST place I'd turn for advice for anything is the " Quackwatch " site. It was run by a man who has now been sued several times for his bias, among other things. And to me, it seems like if it wasn't a drug, he is totally against it. Very old school -- almost makes me wonder if he wsa a secret lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry. d. > > > > I just read the newer book Live Right 4 Your Type (there is an > even > > newer one devoted to fatigue and your type) after years ago > reading > > and being intrigued by Eat Right for your type. Guest guest
Personally, I think the ERFYT theory is simply a good marketing tool, although some will benefit from a better diet, i.e., eating fruits and vegetables and beef (but not chicken) for example, as opposed to eating potato chips and chocolate bars. I would have sent this backchannel, but I don't know how to do it in that your domain doesn't show up in your email address. I am not a Quackwatch fan, I just thot it was useful in helping avoid some silly treatments. Mike C. Guest guest
Mike C Be amused, please. Potato chips and orange juice are my version of Salt/C protocol. I always have both on hand for when my body needs that boost, sometimes once a month. Chocolate that is very dark provides me with many nutrients and antioxidants. I get the kind that includes cocoa butter and coconut oil. With my Magnesium levels increased, I find I need less and less dark chocolate. mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) as opposed to eating potato chips and chocolate bars. Guest guest
I understand. At least you are judicious in eating potato chips, and dark chocolate doesn't have a great deal of sugar in it. This should amuse you. At one point, about 15 years ago, I would eat about 3/4 of a pound of peanut M & Ms for dinner. That's it, nothing else. Well, any type of ERFYT diet would have been better than that!! And I have had maybe 6 M & Ms in the last 10 years, so I learned my lesson the hard way. All the best, Mike C. > > Mike C > > Be amused, please. > > Potato chips and orange juice are my version of Salt/C protocol. Guest guest
Hi Adrienne, I remember Chocolate being on no no list for Herpes...that it can trigger a flare. (Shingles is a Herpes thing, right?). I think Chocolate has Arginine, a trigger of Herpes virus. Other triggers on list were corn, and maybe peanut butter? From ancient memory, Katrina So, Herpes virus treatment might make chocolate more possible?! Maybe Lysine would help. Or Valtrex, or Lemon balm. Guest guest
KAtrina! What: take more stuff, so that I can eat chocolate? I think not. Anyhow, it only starteed flaring when someone, maybe mjh here, or was it Sara started talking up eating lots of chocolate and I started mixing cocoa powder, date sugar and coconut oil for a dessert. Daily. Thanks, but I think I will just leave it out, for the most part. But I think my doc (naturopath),has never treated me for shingles and I bet he can help with it. I eat lots of corn and used to eat p'nut butter. Never noticed any connection to shingles. Yes, it is herpes. Guest guest
Thanks. I am going to ask my N.P. if he can eliminate them entirely. Actually he claims to be able to eliminate the body's reactions to embedded pathogens. I think that how he says it.
