Guest guest
Thanks Al, Thanks mjh. Pardon my ignorance but what does it mean to have one more methyl group? Guest guest
Hi , DMG is one of the best things I have tried - it really helps to prevent a crash when I go out or overdo it a bit. I take some with me in my purse (they come in foil pockets) and I take one when I start to fade and would usually crash, however after the DMG, I don't crash, it perks me up. I still rest up tho, don't push through after my body has given me the message to stop. It's just wonderful not to crash in a heap after going out! I'm actually thrilled to bits with DMG wouldn't be without it now. The only one I've tried is the pure sublingual DMG by Aangamik, Food Science of Vermont. No additives at all in it and it dissolves immediately. It even tastes good. (No interest in the company or anything). Interestingly, I cannot tolerate TMG which has the extra methyl group - it gives me nasty headaches/migraines. I read something about TMG releasing amines, which I am highly sensitive to, so perhaps that's the reason. Apart from the obvious - if you were overmethylated, I don't know of any other contraindications. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable about DMG will post about that. Guest guest
Thanks Jan, I'm in Oz too. So you just get it sent out no problems with customs? I might give it a try. Where do you order it from? How long does it take to get here? Guest guest
Jan, Thank you for sharing this information. I went out at bought some DMG yesterday and can't wait to try it out. I saw a friend of mine today who does not have CFIDS but does have heart issues and she takes a product that contains B6, B12 & TMG. All of her numbers (cholesterol, etc.) went down within the month. Does anyone have anymore of these ideas to keep from crashing or to shorten the recovery time? Marti > Has anyone tried this? Success? Failure? Indifference? I seem to have gone back to having relentless migraines, only stopped by loads of painkillers for days or acupuncture. It must be about 3 months now since I have been taking a supplement with TMG in it plus the other supplements to help methylation. I wonder if this could be the reason for my bad migraines? I will have to do a search. Thanks Pam
Guest guest
Pam, Why don't you do a trial (of not taking it), instead of a search? You already have a bit of data now. It turns out that the migraines are more likely due to my cutting back on my steroid rather than the TMG and folinic acid. I had forgotten I had many wrotten migraines prior to taking it and this was a sign I needed a bit more steroid. One thing occurs to me though is I would think that if these substances plus methyl B12 do get the methylation process started there is a strong chance of getting some toxic reactions, especially if the process gets going too quickly. Apart from going back to 5mg Prednisolone which makes me feel so much better I have cut the TMG etc back to one daily rather than 2 and will see how things go. Guest guest
pam, Hi there. So you are using Methyl B12, folinic acid, and TMG to support your methylation? So if the migraines were not caused by those methyl donors, have you noticed any detox effects, or anything at all? Also, do you inject the B12 or do you take the sublinguals? Thanks, Chris > > > > Pam, > > Why don't you do a trial (of not taking it), instead of a search? > You already have a bit of data now. > > Adrienne > > > > > > > > Hi Adrienne > > I looked back and did a chart comparing the number of weekly > migraines prior to taking the TMG etc and for up to 8 weeks > following. Apart from this I haven't noticed any other difference in how I feel provided I am on enough of the steroid (5mg at present). It is always that that affects my wellbeing more than anything else I have ever taken (thyroid is treated too). Another possible difference is that my immune system seems stronger, in nearly 6 months I have only had one very minor tummy bug that lasted 2 days whereas previously I would pick up loads of viruses that would often turn into a bacterial problem that would need antibiotics. With regard to the B12 for the past year I have been taking Jarrow lozenges 1000 mcg daily and my blood was recently retested and the level of B12 was at the top of the range, in the same way it was when I was having monthly injections of cynacobalamin so it does look as if the sublingual way of taking it works as well as the injections. I am pretty certain I have a polymorphism in the MTHFR enzyme that would definitely affect methylation and maybe I have others too. Maybe one day I will get this tested (live in the UK). Guest guest
Thanks Pam, I've only taken the cyano B12, which apparently does not have the same effects as hydroxy or methyl. I've been trying to piece together this Yasko stuff without buying anything or getting the testing done, and I'm going to try to do this soon. Right now, I am on a Diflucan and no-carb diet protocol, so if this doesn't work, I'll try the methylation support. Thank you, Chris > > > > pam, > > > > Hi there.
