Guest guest
Hi Steve -- Really sorry to hear you've been having trouble with magnesium. My SO and I have been reading over and over how important magnesium is in so many body systems. In addition to melatonin, I'm taking 4 Tablespoons of a calcium/magnesium liquid twice a day. I haven't noticed additional brain fog, and if anything, I seem to be feeling a bit better after four days. Perhaps the type of magnesium matters, and when you take it is relative to eating. I try to stay at least 1/2 hour away from meals with mine. As to the type, my label says: Magnesium (from Magnesium Hydroxide, Carbonate) 300mg Calcium (from Tri-Calcium Phosphate, Citrate, Lactate, Glucconate 600mg Phosphorus (from Tri-calcium Phosphate 600mg So again, I'm taking 4 Tablespoons of this twice a day and I'm not noticing additional problems. Do have a look at your label and see what the source of the magnesium is, and what else is in there. That might give us all a good clue. Best wishes, Fred / Oregon
Guest guest
Does it have magnesium stearate as filler? It may cause this. Try one without it. bw Nil magnesium causing severe brainfog > Hi everyone, > > For just over a week now I've added a couple things to my regime of > supplements. Guest guest
Magnesium supplementation isn't for everyone. Yes, it could be due to other ingredientns in the supplement, but if you have a slow heartbeat, you may actually need more calcium and less magnesium, as calcium helps muscle contraction, while magnesium slows it down. Perhaps the magnesium is slowing your heart rate, and thus reducing your blood flow? If I were taking it, I may stop it for 3-4 days then try it again...see if you get the same reaction. Just my two cents... Dan > > Hi everyone, > > For just over a week now I've added a couple things to my regime of > supplements. Guest guest
No magnesium stearate. It is magnesium glycinate. And it knocked me out! > > Does it have magnesium stearate as filler? Guest guest
Or replace your magnesium with magnesium citrate instead. You could be reacting to the amino acid contained in the chelated form, as some people have reported that. Studies that I've read show that citrate is well absorbed. > > Does it have magnesium stearate as filler? It may cause this. Guest guest
Steve What is the Magnesium chelated to? THat may provide the answer. And, in part that is why I do not use chelates mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) Posted by: " stevenhorr " _sonofdelbert@... _ (mailto:sonofdelbert@...?Subject=Re: magnesium%20causing%20severe%20brainfog) _stevenhorr _ (stevenhorr) Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:09 am (PST) Hi everyone, For just over a week now I've added a couple things to my regime of supplements. I have been successfully taking immunopro for nearly a month, and have recently added: neuro B12, a chelated Magnesium, and C. I've been feeling way worse since starting these new things. Yesterday, I forgot to take my magnesium in the morning and felt relatively great all day. Today, feeling good this morning, I took 200mg at lunch (with some C but no B12) to assess my reaction. Within two hours, severe brain fog and utter exhaustion, which have lasted all day and have me bedridden... I feel like I did when I first got sick with this seven years ago. I have read repeatedly that magnesium is meant to help with brainfog and fatigue, not cause it! Any suggestions/Any su Thanks so much, Steve
Guest guest
Fred How do you think you are going to correct a Ca/Mg imbalance by adding more Ca? mjh " The Basil Book " _http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/_ (http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/) Magnesium (from Magnesium Hydroxide, Carbonate) 300mg Calcium (from Tri-Calcium Phosphate, Citrate, Lactate, Glucconate 600mg Phosphorus (from Tri-calcium Phosphate 600mg So again, I'm taking 4 Tablespoons of this twice a day and I'm not noticing additional problems. Guest guest
Just stop taking magnesium. Immunepro is very powerful stuff on it's own. Additionally, just add one supplements at a time so you can evaluate each one individually. I would like more info. on the neuro B12. I guess you take that orally?
