Has anybody heard of/used this product?

I copied part of their blurb from a website and they try to explain

why/how their whey (by-prod of cheese) works better than other whey?

Aangamik® Gluta-DMG™

by FoodScience of Vermont

Enhances oxygen utilization

Increases antioxidant activity

Improves athletic performance and recovery

Increases intracellular glutathione production

Enhances immune defense

Gluta-DMG is a synergistic combination of two nutritional products, an

undenatured whey protein isolate and Dimethylglycine (DMG).

The special whey protein isolate represents proprietary technology.

It contains sub-families of bioactive proteins, such as lactoferrin,

alpha-lactoalbumin and serum albumin, which have high levels of

glutathione precursors (building blocks) as compared to other whey

proteins and casein. It is efficacious for immune system function and

for producing a sustained cellular increase of glutathione.

Dimethylglycine (DMG) is a naturally occurring intermediary metabolite

produced from choline and found in small levels in grains, seeds, and

in liver. As a dietary supplement, it supports circulatory,

cardiovascular, neurological, and immune functions as well as muscle

recovery and endurance. The human body produces DMG in very small

amounts. Supplementing the diet with higher levels of DMG greatly

improves the nutritional environment of the cell. Dimethylglycine has

been found effective in supporting immune system function and better

utilization of oxygen at the cellular level. Several U.S. patents

have been issued for N, N-Dimethylglycine's value and use in improving

immunity and for benefiting cellular processes. DMG reduces lactic

acid build up in the muscle, thereby shortening recovery time after

strenuous exercise and improving endurance.

Research on the Special Whey Protein Isolate

Carefully controlled scientific studies performed since 1976 on this

special whey protein isolate, a by-product of the cheese industry,

have shown a 30% longer life span (in tests with mice), antioxidant

support, and a greater immune response upon foreign antigen challenge.

These benefits of the specially prepared whey protein isolate have

been shown to be linked to its ability to increase the intracellular

synthesis of glutathione (GSH), the master antioxidant and detoxifier

found in all mammalian cells.

On the Chemistry of Intracellular Glutathione

Studies have shown that feeding glutathione or its precursor,

cysteine, do not boost cellular glutathione levels. This is because

of the instability of cysteine in the blood (it readily oxidizes to

cystine) and because glutathione apparently cannot be transported

intact across the cell membrane. The whey protein isolate contains

the dipeptide gamma-glutamylcysteine—which is absorbed intact into the

cell. The key limitation to the production of glutathione within the

cell is the reaction that combines cysteine with glutamic acid to make

gamma-glutamylcysteine. Since the special whey protein isolate

directly provides the cell with a high level of

gamma-glutamylcysteine, this rate limiting step is bypassed. The

gamma-glutamylcysteine then reacts with glycine to produce

glutathione.
