Hi there & welcome to our group!!!

I don't have any personal experience with BCBS of Alabama but hope

someone else in the group has. In the meantime, I'll search the

archives to see if we have had any prior posts about them.

Even though your twins are just over one, you will still get some

good results with a DOCband. My daughter rec'd her DOCband when she

was 11.5 mos old, had severe plagio, wore one band for 4.5 mos & we

were still able to get good correction :-).

Have your boys been casted already for the DOCband or are they

scheduled to be?

Best of luck with everything. We look forward to reading more of

your posts in the coming mos with rounding heads for your boys.

Welcome again.

Hi and welcome to the group! I am the proud parent to twins also! Do

both Shane and need a band, or does only one twin need it?

Both of my twins, Kaylie and Danny, wore bands to help their plagio.

We have BCBS Personal Choice through my husbands work, so I can't

help you directly with BCBS Alabama. But I can tell you that

Personal Choice covered both bands 100%....hopefully different

branches will do the same. I checked our database of whose insurance

covered what, and unfortunately BCBS of Alabama wasn't listed. I'll

keep checking to see if I can find anything. And again, welcome to

the group!

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome. Yes both of our twins require a

band, however ' case is much worse than Shane's. Not

surprisingly, was born first! He also has a slight

separation of his ear lobe on the same side were he has the

flatness. I don't know if these are related, however I suspect they

may be. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Life

with twins (they also have an older brother and 2 older sisters) is

certainly action packed!

I have BCBS of AL. My son has a STARband. They covered 80% after

our major medical deductible which was $100. The orthotist we are

using filed all the forms on our behalf. It was coded as " durable

medical goods " according to them. I don't know if it would be

different for a DOCband. I honestly think a lot has to do with how

the person filing the insurance codes the services. We did not have

to fight or anything, and were surprsied because we were prepared

to. Good luck to you.
