Guest guest
Hi, Janet. I think magnesium would be a good thing to try. Maybe an Epsom salts bath. Maybe you're getting too much calcium, and that causes an imbalance in magnesium even though you're taking it. Trying increasing magnesium. Or you could just be dehydrated. Have you been drinking enough water on a regular basis? You can also try some quinine - I don't think they sell it any more, but real tonic water contains quinine. Regular stretching of legs and calves really helps, as well. What helped me the most was the " pro stretch " doodad. You can also do good stretches by standing at the top of the stairs facing backwards, hanging onto something for support, and dropping your heels down off the edge. Try this one heel at a time first, in case you have balance problems. > Can somebody help me our there?? What is it that my body is missing??? > Well, lab tests such as a straightforward chem panel can tell you that. If you don't have the $ or the insurance, try using NAET. Have someone show you how to self-test yourself, and then stand in the supplements aisle and test everything until you find your answer! -- el (andreafrankel at sbcglobal dot net) " wake now! Guest guest
I get leg and foot cramps that have me bolting out of bed. The ONLY thing that stops 'em is two dairy servings a day. I should probably have three, but am fighting a candida issue too. Now I'm on goat milk. Calcium supps too, but if I take the calcium and/or magnesium (and boron usually) by themselves, I still get the cramps. You might have your vitamin d levels checked. Low D can mean poor calcium/magnesium metabolism... http:www.vitamindcouncil.com is a great site for optimal D levels, info, studies, etc.. We're all different of course, but that's what works for me. Dan > > Hi All, > > I am having leg and feet cramps. I don't get it. Googled it and it > showed Calcium, Mag or Potassium supplements. Are you taking them with their co-factors? They're not nearly as effective unless you do. Calcium's co-factor is Vitamin D. Magnesium's co-factor is B6, best in the form of pyridoxine. Potassium seems to ride along pretty well with the magnesium and B6 combo, too. Are you also getting adequate dietary intake, from stuff like milk, orange juice, bananas, potatoes, and pineapple? Guest guest
Hi Janet, Do you get the cramps at night or do they occur during the day or when/if you are active. I found eating a banana at night helped my cramps (I thought it might be potassium) but magnesium injections were the big thing that got rid of them for years. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi, Janet. One more thing occurred to me. Are your feet cold? If so, it could be a circulation issue, since that can cause cramping, too. Maybe you have hypercoagulation. That's pretty common in CFS. Have you ever had the tests from Hemex? They aren't cheap, but if you want to pursue it, you can just get the soluble fibrin monomer test first, to see if there's a hypercoagulation issue. The other thing you can do is just try taking nattokinase to see if it helps. If it does, it would point toward hypercoagulation. It's available from www.nutricology.com. Rich -- In , " jgstev716@... Guest guest
Hi, Janet. Sorry about that. I haven't compared prices. I just remembered Nutricology as the first place I heard about nattokinase from a few years ago. They had a really good writeup about it in their newsletter. I don't know the relative qualities of the products from these two suppliers. Rich > > > > Hi All, > > > > I am having leg and feet cramps. I don't get it.
