Guest guest
Well, as many know, I had to take Lauryn to Cincinatti for a consulation with Drs. Billmire and Crone. They feel it is not severe enough to operate and that her head will round out in time. I am still skepticale but, trying to have faith in them as they are the best doctors around for these conditions. Dr. Billmire said the sutures in Lauryns head are still open and allowing adequate (sp?) room for her brain to grow and develope. All of your prayers have been answered as far as that goes. I will be finding out if her PDA and PFO have healed as well. (She was born with a teeny tiny hole in her heart causing spells of apnea and cyanosis which has dissapeared for the most part.) Now, Dr. Crone did tell Heath and I that Lauryn has a small amount (his word was benign) fluid around the subrachnoid space but , he feels this will disipate in time as well. So, I guess everything went really well. I had a nice visit with my aunt and cousins and now I have the flu lol. Can't win can I. But, other than that my family and I are doing good and resting up. Guest guest
, I'm so glad to hear that Lauryn will not need surgery and that her sutures are still open!! YAY!! Will you be pursuing the band, since you said you were still skeptical of her outgrowing it. I'm also very glad to hear that the fluid is benign and that she will outgrow that. Be sure to let us know when the results of the PDA and PFO come back. Keeping my fingers crossed for clean bill of health for Lauryn! Guest guest
: I'm glad the appt went well & you had a nice visit with your family. I will keep my fingers crossed that her other test results come back with good news. What a relief to not need the surgery, whew. How old is Lauryn again? Have you considered using a band seems how her sutures are still open? (forgive me if you've already disussed this!). Thanks a lot for the good news.
