Guest guest
I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. I have been a patient of his for the last 6 years. Currently I am on his heart study and am taking a couple of antivirals and various other vitamins and herbs prescribed by Cheney. When I went back to see Cheney, he noted that my heartbeat has changed from under 90 to more than 100 beats per minute resting. Today it was up to 116 beats per minute resting. I also ran some blood gas tests and it showed that I had a real problem with my oxygen saturation - in fact the test results showed that it was not only high but at a critical stage. I spoke to Cheney and he has found that a number of CFIDS patients not only have diastolic heart failure but also a hole in their hearts which may be the cause of the increase in heart rate. I am flying out to see Dr. Cheney in a couple of weeks to have another test run to determine whether I actually have a hole in my heart. I went to see a cardiologist today to seek a second opinion on what to do if Cheney is right. Out of the blue he started on the Heparin theory and that CFIDS patients have a clotting problem which allows for the viruses (or bugs sort of speak) to hide. He told me that if I took the oral heparin 3 times a day, that I would be cured within a few weeks, as my body's energy would turn to normal. I find it strange that he would have the magic cure for all - am I being taken? I told him that my fibrogen levels were well within normal limits and he really said it didn't matter. He is running a number of tests to determine whether I have that deficiency. I know that years ago, heparin was a treatment modality, but it is also my understanding that this didn't really work. Does anyone else have any experience with Heparin (oral dosages)? I will keep the group posted on my progess with Cheney's heart treatment. Guest guest
I believe Ken Lassen, who I think is the owner of this list, cured himself using this and other modalities to increase blood flow. paul > > I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. Guest guest
- I have never heard of oral heparin - do you mean a pill? Is it actually heparin? I had heard that this was meaning developed, but was not on the market yet. Do you have a brand name, or any other info? thanks - Les Cheney vs. Heparin >I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. I have been a > patient of his for the last 6 years. Guest guest
I'm not terribly well educated as so many others are here, and I've only just been diagnosed and started treatment. I've done what reserach I could surfing the internet. The best info has been from my Fibro and fatigue clinic dr. on the topic of the fibrinogen. She says there is a coagulation defect, as it is called, that is broken down into categories. My specific defect does not require heparin. When they prescribe it I think it is usually injected. However, I was put on a nurticeutical, called Lumbrokinase. It is an enzyme, as I understand, taken between meals, cleans up the fibrinogen by digesting it. Those fibrinogen " plaques " , she explained to me, slow RBC's down and thus hinder oxygenation to the brain. I know EMF's will pop up here again as the cause for the clumping RBC's. So be it. I'm just telling you how my Dr. explained it to me. Regardless of the opinion, I believe something in the treatment plan has cleared my mind considerably. I feel now that I have a brain, where, 6 months ago I was on my way to becoming as thoughtful as a potato. I never knew how much I appreciated those thoughts that seemed to ping around in my head until they stopped pinging. (creative mind, sometimes doesn't shut off when it's supposed to, and becomes a sleep-stealer) No memory whatsoever of long or short term, on bad days, prior to treatment. Memory is returning, it's really nice to remember the name of someone once known and not seen in awhile, especially when they are standing in front of you, expecting some sort of recognition. At any rate, I tribute the nutriceuticals. Diane in MI Cheney vs. Heparin >I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. Guest guest
Hi , I took Heparin in it's injectable form on 2 different occasions for 2-4 weeks at a time. Sadly, it made no difference to my M.E. symptoms. I've heard oral heparin mentioned before but did not realise it was available yet. My Fiance has a hole between the chambers of his heart called a PFO. I wonder if that is what Dr Cheney means? http://tinyurl.com/fgsq4 Wishing you all the best. I would love to be able to see Dr Cheney. Kindest regards, Annette --------------------------------- The all-new goes wherever you go - free your email address from your Internet provider. Guest guest
It may be. Cheney doesn't know whether CFIDS causes the hole to reopen or whether those with a PFO are predisposed to CFIDS. - In , annette barclay <al_barclayuk@...> wrote: > > Hi , > > I took Heparin in it's injectable form on 2 different occasions for 2-4 weeks at a time. Guest guest
Diane, could you please get the specific name of the test about coag defect that your doc used, so mine can prescribe it. And the name of the lab, if need be? Thanks, Adrienne Cheney vs. Heparin >I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. Guest guest
I have a hole in my heart. The technical term is Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO). It occurs in 20% of the population. The hole is open when you are in the womb so blood can pass freely around the developing foetus. However, it is supposed to close by the time we are one year of age. In my case, it didn't close properly, so it re-opens when under pressure (sneezing, pooing, coughing, lifting, etc.). I wonder what percentage of CFIDS patients have a PFO? I remember reading a study not long ago that showed people with migraines got better when their PFO was closed. http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20050219/bob8.asp Kat. > I spoke to > Cheney and he has found that a number of CFIDS patients not only have > diastolic heart failure but also a hole in their hearts which may be > the cause of the increase in heart rate. Guest guest
Well, the lab is Quest Diagnositics, I'll have to find out the tests that dr. did for the info. Part of it was the test for fibrinogen activity I'll see what I can find out. Is Quest Diagnostics Lab familiar? Diane in MI Cheney vs. Heparin >I am currently being treated by Dr. Cheney for CFIDS. Guest guest
btw This is interesting because in an article written in 2000 Cheney recommends the use of Heparin for CFS because it " is a Th2 - Th1 shifter. " However, " Dr. cheney only recommends this if a patient has a coagulopathy. About half of his patients do, according to the ISAC test. Guest guest
I had my fibrogen levels tested and they were well within normal limits... Nonetheless, my other doc told me that there is this genetic test for blood clotting issues and it will take 2-3 weeks to get back the results.
