heheh yes Ernie does need a little help doesn't he. 2-3 weeks is

normal have you atleast seen a decrease since things started? Try running a

fan in his room while he is sleeping and no socks on-that worked for .

P.S. Did you ever look at Ernie's head from Sesame Street? It looks like he could have used a DOC Band. He should be a CT spokesman.

Now that is funny! I am not so sure that Bert couldn't use some help as well!!

Grace had a couple of days of really bad sweating in the beginning and now occasionally she will have a sweaty day depending on how I dress her or when she wakes up she is sometimes very warm. It is a fine balance to try and compensate for the weather and the helmets/bands. I am sure spring and summer will be interesting for many!! --

never did get used to it until we started using a nylon(?)

stocking cap underneath it. Our orthotist also drilled holes in the band

initially (it looks like a golf ball) but that didn't solve the problem.

The stocking cap has worked wonders- his hair is actually dry now. Look

at his pictures in the gallery (Mikey the Math Wiz) to see what he looks

like with holes in the band and a stocking cap under it.

Good luck.

My ortho told us it would take 2 - 3 weeks. still sweated even after

that time when it was hot or when she was particularly active. We just took

the helmet off, wiped her down and plopped it back on. I think you are doing

the right thing by giving him a break from the sweating from time to time

when he needs it.

PS - I never noticed that about Ernie, but now that you mention it.... LOL -

too funny!!
