IL does NOT have a personal belief clause. You have to read the whole thing.

IF your exemption doesn't state a " higher power, spiritual being, God, etc... "

it can and probably will be denied.

What b2 is saying is that you do not have to be tied to a religious organization

that speicifically denies the use of vaccinations, but that they can be your own

personal religious belief. For instance.... the archdiocese (until recently)

fully supported the use of all vaccines (I guess the new pope has some issues

with the ones with aborted fetal cells), that doesn't mean that a Catholic

parishoner can't apply for a religious exemption based on their own beliefs.

I wish we had a philisophical exemption! It makes me crazy, but apparently all

but one of the members of the Illinois vaccine committee (I have no idea what

it's called) all have ties to pHARMa, so there's no way that legislation is

going to let this one pass without one major fight. I'll stick to the safety of

my religiosu exemption. I don't belong to a church with anti-vax in its tenets

either. I got the ideas for my wording for my letter from the IVAC.

http://www.vaccineawareness.org/ i didn't copy it word for word, but just used

it as a basis for my letters.

I used the personal religous belief. I know 2 others that have, and have had no

problems with their doctors or the schools. All in this district, but the

superintendent is the one that determines the validity of an exemption. I know

my letter to theschool was much more detailed than the one that I gave to the

doctor. I crashed and didn't back up my originals. With the doctors, I just

answered all the nurses questions and then when the nurse walked out before the

doc walked in, I put my exemption letter on the counter. So far, so good with

the new pediatrician.
