Guest guest
: How frustrating!!! ( Keep up the good work, and good luck! Keep us posted! Kendra Fwd: I Hate CIGNA!!!! Hi all- Sorry for the obnoxious subject line but I am so angry at CIGNA of NC that I could scream! We had our 2nd level panel appeal and it went really well ( so I thought). We conferenced in Tim Littlefield from Cranial Tech and had a very aggressive presentation. However.... we lost again! I am NOT giving up and now we have to go to external review and if I lose there, I will take them to small claims court. They are still denying us on the "investigational/ experimental and no fucntional impairment" line. The only glimmer of good news is that FOX 18 here in Charlotte is still following the story and is going to interview us on Monday. They contacted CIGNA today and got a comment but I haven't heard what they said yet. I am going to give them the biggest PR fight they have ever had and they will be sorry they tangled with me. If you are local please watch the FOX 18 local news at 6:30 and look for Owen and me. I hope that we eventually win and that it will be made public for all of CIGNA's patients to see so a precedent will be set once and for all and all the parents dealing with plagio or cranio will have one less thing to stress about. Wish us luck and thanks for listening.mom to Owen 4/2/01 banded 12/5/01--- End forwarded message ---For more plagio info
Guest guest
I feel so bad for you. I am soon to have my 2nd level appeal (review panel) and I asked to be conferenced in (along with the refferring doctor). My insurance company also stated that it was investigational/ experimental with no funtional impairment kind of jibberish also. They gave me that "well if you lose, we will do an external review board crap" (sorry for my French). You know, I have have lost all respect fo my insurance company. I am in Virginia but we go to CT in Charlotte for 's DOC Band. What can we do from here? If someone don't mind, can you tape that. I would love to have a copy (I am more than willing to pay for it) so I can send that to my insurance company. I found the CEO of my insurance company's address and I sent him a letter along with a picture of my angel so he can see who his company is refusing to pay treatment for. It did not work and I am afraid I wil be in the same place you are at in a few weeks. I am just thankful that my/uisband's income taxes are enough to cover the remaining costs of the band. I wish you luck.!!! s-Virginia Mom to (9-months) DOC Band since 1-10-02 Fwd: I Hate CIGNA!!!! Hi all- Sorry for the obnoxious subject line but I am so angry at CIGNA of NC that I could scream! Guest guest
, I deleted your last email by mistake. Did you finally win with Cigna of NC? We have just started our battle and I would love to see what you used as evidence. Right now, we have received our first denial letter – “it is unproven and therefore is investigational/experimental.” This is so idiotic!! Do they actually think we would put one of these bands on our beautiful children’s heads just because we don’t have anything better to do??? Thanks!J and
Guest guest
and - Sorry- I haven't checked my email lately. We lost our 2nd level panel appeal and now we are going into the external review. There is another family here in NC that won at the external review so I am a little hopeful. FOX 18 is following our story so I am hoping for a little publicity to get CIGNA to wake up about the problem with all of our children and this treatment. I truly believe there is nothing we can say in the internal appeals to change their mind but do not give up- get to the external review because if enough of us go that far and win it will send the message to Cigna that they need to wake up. It costs them a bundle every time we take the appeal to external review so keep fighting. I would be happy to send you any info I have. Email me at owensmom42@... - I check that more often. Good luck and keep in touch! mom to Owen 4/2/01 banded 12/5/01 > , > I deleted your last email by mistake. Guest guest
Is so bad, I hope CIGNA will understand that we will be spending near $5k just in traveling back and foward from Puerto Rico to Miami, that's besides the $3k that the band costs. --- bbbhand@... wrote: > I am so sorry to hear about your denial.
