We bought our 17 inch florescent black light at Wal-Mart also. The use of the black light was how we could tell that the RP was working. The fewer glowing specks we could see on the skin the the better we felt. What we could see we could remove. The black light helped us get the "things" off our faces, feet and every where else. We would use a toothpick to pick the things out of our skin. Using a magnifying lens helped us see the really small ones. We considered the black light one of our best tools to use against these "things". A good dermatologist use the lights to look at the skin. The light reveals where they are at and the damage done to the skin. Good luck Rita

Rits--I'm back from walmart w blacklight. First of all I see white lines that look like either burrows under skin or stretch mark--also sever white dots that are under the skin--could be sun damage. I do see the white stringy things that are attached to a larger white blob--it is where there is a sore or scratched spot is and althoug I can eventually pull the stringy part off cant quite get the blob?? What do you think?
