Guest guest
Hi to all, I'm doing ok day-by-day. Some good and some bad but, hey, that's life. I find it interesting that people come out of the woodwork when there is a conflict going but are basically quiet on here most days. smiles to all,
Guest guest
Hello Folks; Two weekends ago(i heard) there was a NY Times Magazine article about a Lady and her life story, how her life became miserable and unbearable after getting the ICD and it's first shock. She started living in fear(sound's like my initial response and i still get nightmare's about it) and started developing fobias(i believe like agorafobia and sorts). Appearantly it was a big article and drew attention CBS news radio gave a rebuttle (the doctor was my old doctor from bridgeport CT)saying that overwhelming percentage of people are ok. Question if they were really ok and it was a NY times article why did they get a small Doctor out of a small place like Bridgeport, CT. rather than Cornell or lennox hill in NY city, which are the hospitals pioneering these). Now i know 1 statistic where overwhelming 80 percent of the people that got shocked needs a phsyc help but only a few get it.(study done by Guidant and medtronic and kept quite) doctors wont agree to such numbers because it is a very easy procedure and alot of them they solely make their income from implanting ICD's. Now just think people in NY lennox hill hospital there are couple of Doc's implanting icd's everyday about 6 to 8 times. Say if 1 hospital implant 10 ICD's a day that is (220 working days a year) 10 times 220 makes 2200 just from one hospital. How many hospitals are there that are doing these procedures? We are one of the largest and fastest growing community but no one gets together. All i am saying is please get involved and tell people so that the technology gets better and we can live better lives. Does anyone know that three of the largest biotech companies who crack the DNA code of liver cells(which is the only organ if you take out 85% of it , it'll regrow to be a 100%) are trying to apply the same technology to the heart muscle. they succeded in mice. Get this news out so that they work on it harder. There may be light at the end of the tunnel after all. I just want to see my daughters(7 year old twins) get married and be able to hug my granchildren. Love to all. TURK PS: BOB how are you pal? I am worried about you. Everybody else? Please sound off so that we know you're ok just write im ok you don't have to write a long post. I miss you people. Evryday I still pray for all of you. >From: " JES <Naojeca@...> " <Naojeca@...> >Reply- > >Subject: okay... >Date: Wed, 26 Feb 2003 14:18:34 -0000 > >there's been plenty of time for wounds to heal... now come out and >post/support so we know eveyrone's doing okay ... Guest guest
This has been a week of ups and downs and I thought I'd share. First, the ups: I ran out of Bactrim DS and after sweating it ALL week about whether my doc would prescribe it, I just went to Urgent Care and the German doc there prescribed it without a second thought. This stuff literally has bugs jumping off of me -- I could see them diving out of my scalp an hour after taking it! Feeling great about the people I'm meeting and how they inspire me. I had my car towed during a snow emergency. Holy @#$%@ing @#$%!!! Bizarrely, and to my ultimate surprise, they just towed it to the other side of the street. Thank you, spirit -- I was 20 miles from home with no money and no good options. I got paid unemployment, which never would have happened if it weren't for a weird series of delays...so my ESP order and my VAXA order are in. And I'm going for a MUCH needed rest at a hotel tomorrow. The downs: I'm going back to work Monday, in a Morgellon's infested building. That's kind of a hair-raiser. Still waiting for insurance to approve my Sporanox script. I think my doc will force them for me though. Trying very very hard to think of the most effective way to deal with my very sick mother (whose husband, though wealthy, will not acknowledge her illness). There's no easy way on this, I guess, except raw honesty. She wants a miracle that will work in a day, and for now only a protocol will work. thanks for listening Ian
Guest guest
Ian, Please make sure to treat your hotel room before you leave. You wouldnt want to share with the next family that stays there. The most effective way to do this is to use diatomaceous earth. You can use a sock, and shake it around the room, leaving a light layer over everything. I would do this right when you get there, and right before you leave. Spray the bathroom down with bleach, and microwave all towels used. Also try to use your own blankets on top of thiers, this will cut the risk if infesting the mattress. If you dont have any diatomaceous earth, then windex would be better than nothing. Just trying to help. We dont need any new friends on here if you know what i mean. Please ask any questions, we are more than willing to help. Good Luck Holly PS about your mom, i can totally relate to what she is going through. At one time my husband didnt believe me, and thought i had completely lost it. I had a 6 month old baby, and lived over a thousand miles away from any family or friends. Things turned around for me, starting with this group. You may have to get yourself better before you can help her. There is no overnight cure, dont we all wish. Well, good luck. > > This has been a week of ups and downs and I thought I'd share. > > First, the ups: > > I ran out of Bactrim DS and after sweating it ALL week about whether > my doc would prescribe it, I just went to Urgent Care and the German > doc there prescribed it without a second thought. Guest guest
Ian - I know this wasn't the purpose of your post, but one thing you said hit a nerve. There are a few people in my life who have money, don't have trouble spending it on things they don't need (some of the stuff expensive) but won't donate a penny for research. There are so many depressing and painful dimensions to this horror that sometimes I can hardly breathe. There's a lot more I could say about what this might all mean, existentially, but I will refrain. Guest guest
Good advice. I was less subtle with the DE and slept on my disposable sheets on top of the whole shooting match. Never took the bedspread off (disp sheets have a thin plastic backing). I took my plastic buckets to soak my hair and shower implements in, enzymes and spray cleaner, but I did not have access to a microwave. However, hotels and other destinations either have their own commercial washers and dryers or use laundry services for all their linens; use " sanitizer " in the wash; use HOT water in washer and dryer; and dry very hot for a long cycle. That is one area where the protocols are and have been in place for a long time. Chances are, I think, if someone is going to pick up a parasite from a hotel, it would be from wooden or upholstered furniture rather than linens. katie katiejill > > > > This has been a week of ups and downs and I thought I'd share. > > > > First, the ups: > > > > I ran out of Bactrim DS and after sweating it ALL week about whether > > my doc would prescribe it, I just went to Urgent Care and the German > > doc there prescribed it without a second thought. Guest guest
Thanks, that's a great idea. I'm essentially homeless right now, so a hotel can be a huge relief. I always leave a complaint with management that I got bites in the room. We have a bedbug epidemic in Cincinnati, so I'm pretty sure they spray the room good when I leave. Thank you for the encourgement; i am trying to be very patient (though persistent) with my mom. I think at some point she will realize that whatever it takes, she'll do it to get better.
