Guest guest
It will be over before you know it and in the meanwhile - think of how GREAT he is going to look in one more month! That will last a lifetime - one month is less then a drop in the bucket! Very good to hear that the band still has life in it and that you don't have to cross the bridge of deciding to get a second band or not. Can't wait to see that graduation post!! Guest guest
Thanks for the update! You might as well get more bang for your buck out of the band. Are you still appealing your ins. co? Obviously no luck yet, keep fighting though. The next month will fly by. Looking forward to hear of his graduation day next month Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > hey there everyone..thought i would bring you all up to date on > tucker..he has been in his docband for 5 months now so we were hoping > that his appt yesterday would be about graduation. it wasn't...they > say so far he has 70-75% correction and the band still has life in it > so they are figureing another month to go...so that is good and > bad...more time for a better correction, more for my money!!(since > insurance has not paid) but its ANOTHER month!!!hopefully soon... Guest guest
, I am so glad to hear that you have the support of the FDA behind you, that is terrific!! Hopefully that is the catalyst you need to get your insurance to cover Tucker's band. I can imagine you were a little dissappointed that Tucker didn't graduate today, but every day he's in the band is another day that his head is rounding out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Niki Kaylie & Danny (STAR grads) Phila., PA > well everyone.tucker had an appt and was supposed to be discharged but the band is still working so on feb 27 we have an appt for discharge (maybe!!) also. the fda has gotten back in contact via email and stated that it is no investigational/experimental and that if i have further problems i may have the insurance company or whoever else i must deal with call her directly! also our docband clinic gave me a company to help me with my insurance fiasco..i will aske them if they are out of wisconsin only or if they do all the states and if i may post their number for anyone who needes it > > brenda > mom of tucker

Guest guest
, Well it's too bad he couldn't graduate, but GREAT that the band is still working and that you can look for even more correction! Wow - it's fantastic that you found someone that could help you with the FDA stuff - too cool!! That could possibly really help some other people here too. Good job! I'll be crossing my fingers for a 2/27 graduation! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
: I guess your DOCband clinic likes you & Tucker too much to see you go!! hehe... I'm sure you're ready for the graduation but you might as well give it another week. So let's see what your post says next week, graduation or not??? I'm happy that you're fighting your ins. company til the bitter end. I wish you best of luck with that - I really hope they end up paying. Be sure you keep us updated on both your ins. & that long awaited graduation day! Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > well. yesterday we had what was supposed to be tuckers graduation appt..but...1 more week!! jeesh. .this time they actually trimed away some of the doc band itself..this is twice now they said we would be done and we werent..my hubby and i told them that the better have a cake for tucker cause he is the longest in one band they have ever had..tucker was banded the end of augest..so 6 months in 1 band... > another thing i wanted to say is that we got in touch with that abc for health that i posted about earlier..they are a god send..they will represent us for free and are helping us build a case against the insurance..they told me that the insurance , or course, tried to screw us over by putting in our denial letter that we were to go to our local arbitration center thingy but wisconsin don't have one..so..the insurance told us to go to minneapolis mn..abc for health said that even if minneapolis said that the insurance should pay..the insurance could say..well they aren't out of wisconsin so we arent gonna listen..nice of them huh..i shoulda known!! abc has assigned some lawers for us to take the case..they even added a student lawyer casue he has actually done 5 doc band cases and has more experience then the rest of the lawyers!! lol..well thats all for now..hope everyone else is doing fine..i'll try to keep in touch.. > brenda, WI > mom of tucker > doc band 8/23/01-now!!! > the rubedor family
