environmental sprays: IPM, IGR, Egg teeth

IPM means 'integrated pest control' and the concept came about after IGRs,

insect growth regulators hit the PC industry. IGRs break the cycle of life by

preventing the formation of a so-called 'egg tooth' in organisms that use this

'tooth' to escape the egg when it comes time to hatch. The term 'integrated'

refers to the use of the IGR along with a knockdown. For the PC industry, this

means using a pesticide with the IGR. For us, it can mean other types of

products such as those made from citrus peels. Because IGRs such as Nylar apply

only to organisms whose life cycles include eggs and egg teeth, they obviously

do not apply to organisms that do not have egg teeth. For those organisms,

alternative means of long-term control must be found. One excellent alternative

is Dustmite, a water-soluble borate that, once sprayed, remains effective for up

to 8 months. It need not be repeated when other treatments are reapplied UNLESS

the subsequent treatments in some way physically interfere with the physical

properties of the borate. Nylar also need only be repeated in accordance with

directions. katie

Someone enlightened me the other days, that any Nylar product is not available in California, (wonder if PITA or any anti abortion activist.....(?) now here is a big LOL ) had anything to do with this ?

The closest I was able to get to was some of those anti mosquito pellets. Now I have come to terms of settling for online ordering only. Where can I get the dustmite again ? I wish for a one stop online shopping, anyone help please ?

Also, those places for doyourown pest control sites will not ship to a PO address, which Issue I will have to start to address starting next Friday, cause I am outto here, this nice place with the shiny floors ! The rest is mite history.
