Haha. Very funny robert. Stella is so so, just been laying around. I

believe the ivermectin is the cause of her laziness. Im going to give

her a second dose sunday. She still itchy, i been washing her bedding

everyday and spraying around her house and inside with a tea tree and

dawn mixture. Sometimes i give her a squirt here and there and she runs

and hides. But i think the ivermectin is starting to go through her

system. I hope it works, crossing fingers.

Adam,

If your dog stays outside you might wanna consider spraying with neem

oil. I've pasted some information I found online. Also the link I

attached has some interesting information on the last two pages.

Neem oil at the healthfood store is very expensive, but you can find

it online fairly cheap & it goes a long way. I bought mine on ebay

for arround $18.00/32oz. It goes a long long way since you dilute it

with water. I even put it in my nightly bath. I've also sprayed my

whole house with it.

Hope the info below helps someone.

Hannah

Check out this link - last two pages very interesting:

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/afrd/assets/documents/website-mite-background.pdf

Found this info online:

" Infestations with the poultry red mite Dermanyssus gallinae

represent a major ectoparasite problem in poultry and affects egg and

meat production worldwide. The effects of the neem seed product Mite-

Stop against the red poultry mite were investigated. Five primitive

poultry farms in two small villages in the Nile Delta and Giza

district were selected for the study. The neem extract was diluted

1:40 and 1:50 with tap water just prior to use. Application of the

two dilutions of the provided product was performed to soil, cracks

and crevices of the examined area as well as to mite-infested birds

on day 0 and day 7. Two hours after treatment soil dust was collected

from sprayed regions of the stable and from unsprayed control regions

of the same stable. The treated chickens were also checked for mites

2 h after each treatment. The examination of the chickens 2 h after

spraying showed that they were free of mites. The examination of

treated soil with the Tullgren funnel apparatus 2 h after the first

spraying on day 0 already showed a considerable reduction of living

mites compared to controls. Seven days after the first treatment of

the soil the number of living mites was reduced for 80% in the

treated soil and decreased even more after the second spraying, since

those larvae that had hatched from eggs in the meantime were killed.

The 1:40 dilution of the neem seed extract with tap water was

superior to the 1:50 dilution. These results clearly show a very high

killing rate of the extract, if the mites come in direct contact with

the compound. However, in order to obtain extinction also of hidden

and freshly hatched stages repeated spraying should be done three

times within 8-10 days. "

Would it be better to wax than to shave? I think some of their hair

involvement is just under the top layer of skin, close to the root.

Removing the whole hair makes sense to me.

ADAM, my kids said the tea tree oil spray smells like pee! Stella prolly thinks

u are

marking her! j/k I hope she gets to feeling better soon. My

dog(outside)...she's getting

bald again. Is it the time of year? And she just had puppies...oh man, she was

a stray who

adopted us. I bathed her in borax a couple of times. the last time she had

these bald dark

spots i put some borax mixed in petroleum jelly on it and believe it or not it

cleared it up.

This was before i knew how bad petroleum jelly is...but she didnt mess with it

or lick it off.

i dont guess i would have either if i were her! good luck, chasity oh yeah,

when she starts

getting like that she craves garlic....she picks the pieces out of the slop

bucket. only the

garlic though. she dont eat slop! she likes cat food...i know, me and my crazy

world.---
