, the snapshot is, I used various knockdowns over the course of a few weeks and finally a combination of (1) bifenthren from Home Depot, (2) Nylar, ordered online from seeds, and (3) DustMite. I used bifen as the base liquid, half a gallon at a time, adding the other two according to pkg direx. Sprayed furniture, curtains, lampshades, walls, ceiling, carpets over the course of a couple of days. I taped plastic over the front of bookcases to protect books, sprayed pretty much everything else. Stayed elsewhere, with Cat, during spraying and while stuff was drying out (kept dehumidifiers running, of course).Came home and slept on favorite sofa as a test. The 3rd night I got one bite, which didn't surprise me. I figured my body warmth would initiate a hatch but counted on Nylar and DustMite to prevent the newbies from living long and breeding. Nothing since. Have been spending a lot of time in big upholstered easy chair.I wasn't going to write the group till more time had gone by; we all know about hope followed by despair. However, since you asked. . . .I finished the treatment 5 weeks ago. I travel a lot and have been home and using the furniture for only about 10 days.As some of you might remember, I went to live in an extended-stay inn for a few weeks. I had worked out the strategy from spending all spare time for weeks/months with this incredible group. (Earlier I had used Clorox and epsom salts several times and hated the mess; used gallons of Windex and felt it was just too unhealthy.) Through all of the time at the inn, thermostat set at 90 and dehumidifiers running. menthol crystals on warmers in all rooms (that stuff goes fast!).Three to four days between treatments below. Because I have a lot of stuff, I would do only one room or half a room at a time, so this took awhile. I would come home, put on boots, raincoat, and respirator, turn on the TV, and clump around in a horrible mood, sweating profusely, sure that nothing would work, trying to live a day at a time. Some days I just stayed in bed in the inn. You get the picture.Heavy Cedarcide fog.Rita's Raid on everything that could take it.Repeat.Bifen on everything.Repeat.Finally, the combo.I used Nylar and DustMite last because I didn't want to put anything on top of them that might reduce their effectiveness.Same system in car. Seems to be working.I plan a Cedarcide fog in a few days and a repeat of the combo in a couple of weeks. Right now, the battle is nose and face, but that's another subject.I am very fearful of re-infesting premises from myself. Will let y'all know what develops. When I think about the spirit and guts and savvy and smarts of this group, I just start tearing up. Without you I would never have had even this relief.

Hugs to all,>> Does anyone have any recipes for whole house sprays that they know > kills and just not deters these guys? I've tried the salt and bleach > and it made too much of a mess. Looking for lethal, but clean, and no > bleach: to much windex has been sprayed!.> bob>

On MDR they use vinegar which is the first thing I found that worked to

kill them. WTG

Woohoo your kicking bug ass big time. I'm so impressed with

you. Your gonna get em, I can tll. That's a serious battle plan. Just

keep at it like you have been.

Thanks for the mix suggestion btw. I've used the nylar and dustmite

too. I so feel the stress your talking about when spraying these

chemicals. Makes my heart pound and I wanna puke.

Since your worrying about your body, I've revised my bathing protocol

and it's really helped me. Maybe it can help clear your body up too,

email me at if you want it. Have you ordered the ESP NH 2? It's

helping me immensely, much faster than the regular New Hope.

Keep at it, I'm so happy your hitting it so hard and finding sucess!

We've missed your posts big time. I know all of us working togeather

are going to come up with a good, solid attack plan that gets rid of

them.

We have fogged with the Cedarcide & special Fogger every Saturday for

the past 4 weeks and it has helped tremendously! We still have to

live in our home, plus we have dogs and a bird and dont have the

luxury of evacuating elsewhere... But overall it has knocked down the

population for us... definitely. We are ordering more solution and

instead of waiting 7 days... increase the fog cycles to every 4

days... I think for the " Final Solution " we are considering using

Talstar in the house; once our bodies are improving a little more.

(We've only been on the ESP for a couple wks and the Ph and Parasitin

for 9 days). For the cars, we sprayed with Cedarcide and then did a

follow up tx with Talstar and that has been very effective! No more

crawlies or infestation in the car, so far... its been 2 weeks on

that. I'll need to check that my fiance isn't doing any " extra "

spraying in the car without my knowing... he's become like that..

because this whole ordeal has really been a nitemare! I just make

sure I have showered and have the ESP serum on when I'm in the car.

We'll keep reporting our progress to give people a firmer report on

final effectiveness! I do think its prudent to tx the car again

anyway to maintain it -because our bodies are not all the way yet -

we don't want to lose ground on anything.

PS. I spoke with another Sufferer tonight that contacted me to

offer support and encouragement - it was like God sent an angel,...

anyhow we were discussing " house tx's " and I told her about what I

was doing and out of curiousity I asked about Tenting the house and

she firmly explained that in her experience and her neighbors

experience it was awful & unsuccessful (a neighborhood infestation! --

nothing surprises me with this stuff anymore.) She further

elaborated that after the tenting... the critters came back with a

vengence and that the bites were much worse " like they felt

electrical " ... she said that the neighbors concurred that same

experience for them as well... I assume they didn't tent twice.

Perhaps, I shouldve asked? I doubt it though from the sounds of her

story. That worried me hearing this account because I've also toyed

with the idea of Tenting as well if the Cedarcide couldn't kill them

all the way - but we still have to try our " every 4 day " attempt

first. And we do have Talstar as an option too.

Thank you for sharing that! We are using 2 of the 4 things you're

using but.... having a pioneer like you to draw from really helps...

makes our plan look ineffective now? Don't know yet? Much more to

consider though and more options... We wouldn't have come 1/2 as far

if it wasn't for people like you & everyone here! My prayers are

with you to Win with your combination!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up.

Question about Ortho bifi - are you using the product that you just

spray as is (I think it's 0.5% concentration) or are you using a

concentrated one which you must dilute w/ water? I'm having a hard

time figuring out how much water/solution to use for the

concentrated one.

Kihun, I used the 0.5 that you spray " as is " as the base (adding Nylar

and DustMite). Right now I'm looking out at a snow-covered bottle of the

concentrate on my balcony. I read the cautions, freaked (something like,

" if the victim is still breathing . . . !!!), removed it from the condo,

and bought the weak solution.

Vinegar doesn't have much of a residual effect or smell. It's a kill

on contact liquid(acid). WTG..................

We have used the " Concentrated " version of Bifenthrin - - The product

is called Talstar... it has 7.9% Bifethrin in it and it means

business!!! It is expensive, it comes in a pint size; we got it

from " Do it Yourself Pest Control " ....It comes with a guide pamphlet

so you can measure concentrate to water properly. We use 1 ounce to

1 gallon of water and put it in a pestacide sprayer and spray....

We did our cars and have had very good results. We also treated the

yard with it too. Considering treating the house with it but for now

using the Cedarcide weekly and getting slowly but surely good

results. But if Cedarcide dont work in the end - I'm goin with the

Talstar!!!!!!!! Hope that helps.

Hi Regina, so is it 7.9% bifen when diluted 1oz to 1gal of water?

Ortho ones come as .5% concentration so yes, that's some serious

strength!

I'm thinking about just dumping everything in the trijet fogger and

fogging repeatedly - cedarcide, 1oz of nylar, and 1oz of

concentrated bifen. The base liquid in cedarcide should help it

mist up and fog really well (as opposed to just trying to fog windex

or waterbased stuff like a solution of orange plus, which doesn't

fog at all). Of course, I'll need to wear protective gear to do

this - long sleeves, respirator, and goggles.

Just a thought of caution and concern - about putting the Talstar

mixed with other solutions in the trijet fogger... you may want the

advice of a PCO (or pest control specialist) before doing this.

My " worry " is this: that the fogger breaks down the molecules so

small that it really may be dangerous to utilize this solution in

this way (perhaps, even with a respirator)... Just be careful and

check it out with a pestacide specialist. so far we have been

dispensing the Talstar/bifethrin water solution *(all by itself - not

mixing with cedarcide, or anything, etc) in a regular Pestacide

sprayer and we have treated the car and the yard... But, as I

posted, the results have been good in that it seems to kill these

things (however the " eggs " are another matter) and mind you we have

just repeated tx of the cars this past wkend- because our bodies are

not quite recovered and I suspect we " re-infect " it as well.

but good luck and keep safe... I'm interested in hearing your results

and progress as well. - R

If I spray chemicals again, I will use Tim's suggestion of Onslaught.

It does list mites as the insects it controls. You also would not

need to worry about mixing other things in with it, BAD IDEA, except

for an IGR.

You bring up a good point.

Safely and health should be the highest concern, although much of

that has been going out the window for many of us here b/c of our

suffering and desperation.

Anyway, you got me a bit worried so I called doyouownpetcontrol

(that's where I ordered 1pt Nylar from) and spoke to a person. I

asked whether it was okay for nylar to be used in a fogger. He

didn't see a problem w/ it since it's relatively a safe product and

you can have it all around you. As for bifen, he recommended

against that b/c it has a residual and that's something you'd only

spray against your baseboards and such and you don't want the stuff

all around you. Now, everyone on this forum knows that we have not

been using bifen in the recommended way but we spray it everywhere -

floors, walls, ceilings, inside cars... so we've already tossed

safety out the window. So based on that logic, even when bifen is

up in the air as a mist, once it settles and is dry, it's not

different than the way we currently use it but it's better

distributed - BUT having said that, I'm still a bit scared to have

it everywhere around me so I'll hold off on bifen in the fogger.

Nylar, I might do (with a respirator and protective clothing of

course).

Good points Kihun. I only use the electric fogger for somewhat safer

knockdown products, like windex, cedarcide, soap/esssential oil

mixes. When I mix the nylar and dustmite, I use the handsprayer for

better. control. Talstar and like products are a restricted use

pestacide, not meant for broadcast spraying or for use in kitchen

areas. My PCO says he is not allowed by law to use the electric

sprayer that I am using for his chemicals, not enough control. Many

products are not safe used above the baseboards. The onslaught is

labeled for broadcast spraying (and mites...and mites) and is safer

in kitchen areas (with proper cleaning afterwards). I talked to my

PCO about it today and he is going to start an every two weeks

spraying for six times (labeled OK for two week use in between

spraying) and then monthly until they are done, each time with a room

knockdown product too. I asked him to add an IGR to it and he had no

problem with that. I agree with you about health and safety, I would

never have sprayed my home with anything chemical pre-mites. haven't

had any in the house for years. I'm optimistic about this approach,

hoping it's not too bad for me.

Well, I fogged last night with about 3/4 gal of cedarcide and 1oz of

nylar mixed together in the fogger (no bifen). It fogged up really

thick, just like w/ just cedarcide alone. I have about 1.5 fogs

left of cedarcide so I might order more. Now I've fogged twice in

the last 7 days. Still now sure whether cedarcide helps but I don't

get attacked nearly as much anymore... but then I've been treating

my body very rigorously the last week w/ a bath everyday, iver,

elimite, revoxil (anti parasitic), going all out. I think the

problem I had before when using cedarcide was that I didn't keep

fogging repeatedly b/c of either time or money constraints (they are

expensive!!!!). But I'll keep it up and see how it goes. I think

another fogging session is due on Sat or so w/ just cedarcide, no

nylar this time. Today I'm also going to spray down my rug and

couches w/ dust mite and nylar mixed together. Can't wait for this

to end!!!!!!

Be sure to get product on the ceiling and walls. You may need to use

a hand-held sprayer to get plenty of product on the ceilings and

walls. You can find hand-held sprayers in the gardening section of

hardware stores. I found that the fogger didn't work too well for

getting product on ceilings and walls.
