Being in NE, my heat is on 70 and my humidity is about 30%. I tried the dehumdifier route throughout the fall, and I don't think it was as effective as my spraying had been. So I have just running the dehumdifiers when I spray, and within hours it's back to 30%. My spraying last night of 1/2c orange plus, 1/2 c dawn, at least 20 shakes of clove, lemon and lime essential oils per gallon, seemed to leave a good amount of knockdown causualties on my kitchen counter. I'm going to spray every four days from now on till I win, alternating safe spray mixtures. I didn't take the Ivermectin, I just didn't give them a place to reinfest me from. If you only have the critters that are biting you, you can do this.A shade tent with no sides and a floor of sand is your home. An ATV is your transportation. Just keep moving and don't go indoors. When you find your neutral place....find one with a microwave. Keep up the fight, but with joy in your heart to fuel you when it just gets too exhausting otherwise. Remember that even in what we deal with, we are better off than many. Why? Because we can still get around, somehow, and take care of ourselves, as hard as it is, as much work as it is, we CAN do it. Because we can communicate with others, no matter how frustrating or useless it seems sometimes, we can still do it. Because we have EACH OTHER. This is something I did not have for many many years. YOU. All of you. You, Save, and everyone else here has renewed my will, not only to get better, but to live, period. Oh yes, you can kick them. Will we always need to be vigilant? Yes. But if or when we do get afflicted again, we know how to beat them, and we see 'em coming sooner. What we must never forget is that this is an epidemic waiting to happen. We are the ones who will be in a position to help others when it breaks loose. If it gets on us again, we know how to shake it off again, and I know that I for one, when I get rid of all my crap in my house for one final time, knowing what I know now, I will not live the same way again. I will relax and enjoy my life, it won't be like I'm living in a fortress or a prison like it feels sometimes now, BUT I will manage my life in such a way that it is more difficult for the critters to get established, even if they do re-enter my life. And I will never be afraid of them again.
