Guest guest
LIsa-here's what I can tell you. A low lying placenta previa is when implantaion of the placenta takes place at the lower part of the uterus near your cervix. Normally it takes place at the top of your uterus away from the cervix. As you said they will take another ultrasound just to check for placement of where the placenta is lying. They really don't know why it happens, sometimes their are factors that predispose it such as previous scars on the uterus or previous history of it. Please don't fret over it too much. It's not that uncommon. Their are some warning signs that I'm sure your doctor mentioned and that's routine with any patient. But you would want to notify your doctor or place of delivery if you started having bleeding or contracting early. Taking care of your busy 18 month old shouldn't be a problem but you might mention any activity restrictions your doctor may want you to take. Also if you ever have a question such as in the middle of the night or after regular office hours you can always call the hospital where you are going to deliver and speak to a L & D nurse and they can help you with anything. Sometimes patients aren't aware of that so I always tell them. Hope I didn't overwhelm you. I love what I do but so I can get a little overzealous with the info. I'm sure you and your little one will be just fine.BEST OF LUCK TO YOU-SARA(LOGAN'S MOM) OKLA
