's Daily Message ThursdayOctober 19, 2006YOU CAN`T MOVE WHEN YOU`RE DEAD!

I never used to be a mover, and the only thing I ever shook was a salt shaker! Moving from the bedroom to the living room was all the moving I did when I came home from school. My free time was not filled with football practice and tennis lessons! When I wasn`t taking classes, I was watching TV. I would leave my bedroom, go to the kitchen, get some of my favorite snacks, move to the living room, and park myself in front of the box where the people were small, but the stories were big! As I watched these stories, my hands moved from bowl to bowl, mixing popcorn with salted mixed nuts and Raisinettes.

For a long time, I didn`t do anything that involved much moving. That`s why I gained weight and had a few medical problems. The hundreds of diets I tried in my early years never, ever included movement in any direction.

When I came to Los Angeles in the early 70`s, I started to move, and I`ve never stopped! I can`t wait to get out of bed in the morning and start moving every part of me. Okay, so you can`t relate to that part of me. It`s okay! I get up to music and let the beat take over my soul and waistline! If I`m not working in the office, I`m moving about. There`s a lot of steps in my home, and I climb them constantly! I take breaks every few hours and walk around with the dogs. I do cardio 4 days a week and toning 3, for at least an hour a day. When I`m on the road, I`m always skipping through airports and walking up and down the stairs in my hotel.

I have to tell you, I like to move now and groove now and live in a body I like and respect now! Some of you know what I`m talking about, and some of you don`t. Why I love to move so much is because it, in many ways, guarantees I will not gain my weight back, and that`s a nice guarantee to have! So until St. comes to get you, I say move! What have you got to lose?

Love,
