Guest guest
Those of you who have a Whole Foods Market nearby (or those of you who might shop online through Whole Foods, they have their own brand of products called 365. They put out various energy bars, and nutrition bars, and among them are Everyday, The Complete Nutrition Bar. At the store near me they have Honey Peanut and Chocolate somethingorother. Both are tasty. Instead of 40-30-30, they are 40-40-20 (with the 20 being the fat). Get this: the honey peanut is 175 calories, 4g fat, 2g fiber, and 18g protein. I think the chocolate is 21g protein. Pretty impressive stats, I think! ;-) F " have a nice day " <litlroo-@...> wrote: original article:tae-bo_on/?start=10118 > Well, so far, my diet hasn't been too too bad. Guest guest
Thanks guys!! I haven't weighed myself yet, but my inches on my waist seem to be down about half an inch, even though I haven't really been exercising at all...(just some sporadic swimming). I think about doing tae bo every day, but the truth is I'm burned out on it. I need to do something different for awhile. And for right now, I think I " ll concentrate on a 21 DC of eating without cravings. Does anyone else have the trouble of concentrating on exercise AND diet at the same time. I can do one or the other, but it just seems to take too much to do both. So, I think since my diet is my MAJOR obstacle, I'll work on creating a new habit of that first, and then re-instate the exercise. Do you think that sounds like a good plan? Guest guest
Dear Group. I've only been here a short time and I haven't posted much but I would like to jump in and get to know everyone. I'm . I'm 42 soon to be 43. I have decided that I want to give weight loss surgery a try. I know many of you disapprove of this form of weight loss but I've tried absolutely everything else. My insurance requires that I go on a six month diet. I am on 1800 calories and I have to keep a food diary for the whole time. I will weigh in monthly at my pcp. I have to lose 5% of my body weight during this 6 months. When I began on Thursday I weighed 294. I'm waiting until next Thursday to weigh and see if I've lost anything yet. The trouble I'm having is with getting started on an exercise plan. I don't do much and I dont get around too well. I have a mental illness called schizoaffective disorder which causes a condition called schizophrenic apathy. I find it very difficult to do even the simplest things for myself so you can imagine what it is like trying to exercise. I know some of you are doing very well with walking and using exercise videos. I have a video called Sit Tight. It is exercise sitting down. I am a member of 's Clubhouse and I use some of his meal plans but because of my condition I try to keep things as simple as possible, which means eating the same foods for several days in a row. If this diet works out well I might even change my mind about the surgery. It will help to know I'm not all alone in this struggle. Blessings,
Guest guest
>The diet is going well so far. I just hope I can keep it up for six months. That seems like such a long time. You DO realize, don't you, that after you have the surgery you're going to be on a very restricted, low-cal food plan for the rest of your life, right? If not, any weight you do lose is going to come right back on. The reasoning behind losing some weight *before* the surgery is to prove to yourself that you *will* be able to survive - physically and mentally - on all the restrictions. If you can't do it now, then all the surgery in the world isn't going to help you afterwards. You've GOT to change your eating habits if you want weight loss to be permanent. Look at all the celebrities who had WLS done - Carnie , Randy , Al Roker, even Sharon Osbourne. All of them have regained some, if not all, of their pre-op weight back. Carnie even spent 100 days on the Celebrity Fit Club tv show trying to jump start her weight loss again. She blames her regain on her constant snacking and love of sweets. Sharon Osbourne just announced last week she's finally going to have her surgery *reversed* because of all the problems she's had since it was done - not just the weight gain but her colon cancer is suspected of being the result of absorption problems after WLS. There are many others on mailing lists and message boards who can tell you that they, too regained all their weight, sometimes ending up higher than when they started. WLS is *not* the final solution, just another tool in the struggle for weight loss. Sue in NJ
