Guest guest
's Daily MessageSaturdayOctober 14, 2006 THE END The other evening in chat, I asked everyone what their favorite stories were when they were kids. Oh, and I remember every single story they mentioned! When I wanted to hear a story, I`d hop in my mother`s bed and nestle myself close to her. My mother spoke beautifully, and she changed her voice to match the characters in the book. Oh, did I use to laugh! What were my favorite stories that Shirley would read to me? There was "Pinocchio." Geppetto was a lonely marionette maker, and one day, he carved himself a little boy, and he named him Pinocchio. At the end of the book, Pinocchio is transformed from a hunk of wood to a real little boy! I loved "Snow White" and all the dwarfs. And how I loved the evil witch! At the end of that book, Snow White ends up with the person she loved! Cinderella got her shoes and her man, and Sleeping Beauty found a prince of a guy, too! What about "Bambi"? Was that a cute little dear or what? I don`t know how many times I made Shirley read this one to me, but I`m sure it was hundreds of times! My favorite book in my collection was "The Ugly Duckling." I just really felt for the duck. I remember when my mother would turn the page and show that the ugly duckling became a breathtaking swan. I would just stand up and cheer! Did you notice something about all the books we were read as kids? All the stories of our childhood had happy endings! The stories ended just the way you wanted them to end! If someone would write a children`s story based on your life, would it have a happy ending, too? I want your life to have a happy ending! Until that happens, I want you to find happiness in your life today, tomorrow, and every day. Find happiness in who you are and what you`ve accomplished. Start being happy… NOW!
