At the beginning of the week, we celebrated Columbus Day, and on that day, Columbus discovered the New World! I was not a great history student, but I simply couldn`t get enough of . What an amazing man he was! I wonder what he discovered about himself on his long journey.

I felt like Columbus last weekend, when so many of you sailed through a weekend of sweatin`, tonin`, cryin`, and laughin` with me! I discovered so much about those who came to this unique retreat. I discovered that a lot of people who came still live in the past, and you know as well as I, if you keep thinking about the past, there`ll be no time to enjoy your present!

I discovered that a lot of people who came had been poisoned by others` negativity. Over the years, there have been those individuals that said remarks to you about your weight and your looks that have hurt you very much. If you only believe what others have to say to you, you`ll never believe what`s in your own heart!

I discovered a lot of people who came were physically and mentally tired because all they do is take care of others from morning till night. If you take care of those you love, who is taking care of you? I would say… no one!

I discovered that a lot of people who came did not believe in themselves and know their personal worth. You know how much your car is worth. You know how much your house is worth. But many didn`t feel worthy when they stepped into Slimmons a week ago. I hope when they all left on Sunday that they discovered their "New World" just like Columbus did! I hope they left with the self-worth they need to stay on program and finally finish what they started years ago.

I`ll travel to Philadelphia today, and tomorrow, I will be on QVC to discover if America will love my new steamer! I`ll wave at you this Saturday on QVC between 12:00 noon and 3:00 PM ET!
