Guest guest
's Daily Message Tuesday October 03, 2006 WHAT WOULD IT SAY? There are 2 chairs in the room facing each other. You are sitting in 1 chair, and your body is sitting in the other chair. If your body could talk to you, what would it say? I mean, your body has lived with you for… all your life! If your body had a mouth, what would its conversation with you be like? My students had to think long and hard about this one. " Hey, why have you wasted so much time trying to lose weight? Why have you stretched me out so much? I will never look normal again. I have been good to you for 49 years, and I want to continue, but you have to help me do it! " " Wake up! You keep saying you have time later, and later never comes! You have to help me NOW – not later, not tomorrow, but NOW! I need you to focus on what`s best for me and be consistent for me. " " Please stop listening so much to your emotions and listen to me more. Try to find balance in your life. You can listen to me and your emotions, thoughts, and feelings in a healthy way. Let`s be friends again. " " Why did you wait so long to start getting me in shape? Look how much better you are now! We still have a ways to go, but you lost so many years of being able to do the things we do now. You and I are a team, and this team is going to win! " " I want to have a serious talk with you. Why have you done so much to hurt me? You stuffed me full of food, then you starved me for days. And all I want to do is take good care of you, make you happy, and provide you with a healthy place to live. Why can`t you just love me and take care of me the way I love you and want to take care of you? " Today I want you to visualize yourself in a chair facing your body that you have used and maybe abused. What would it tell you? What would it ask you to do? Would you listen? Something for you to think about, and think one more thing – that you are an unbelievable, kind, warm, funny, and special person to me, body and soul!
