I'm so far behind it's pathetic! I even told some listowners that I could no

longer help moderate their lists, that I just have no *time* to do it any

more. So now I'm down to 8 lists I own/mod - a more managable level,

especially since 4 of them are so slow they're nearly dead.

Yesterday was the first day this

> week since Tuesday that I actually felt " ok " and " humanly normal " (LOL)...

Good to see that your sore throat and other problems are finally gone. My

bashed toes are no longer swollen, but one is still a bit purple but no

longer in pain, so I can't use that as an excuse not to exercise any more.

> Anyway - I don't know where my weight stands

I'm back to 268 - 270, the same weight I was before I started thyroid

replacement 2 months ago. I see the doc tomorrow and *better* get the dosage

increased, because I know the labwork I had done last week won't show any

change for the better. In fact, I suspect my counts may be worse, as I'm

more tired and get more easily fatigued now than before I started taking the

meds. Heck, I'm taking naps nearly every afternoon, and I didn't even do

that when Henry was a newborn! I hope it's not a sign my liver enzymes are

getting worse - if so, I'll have to stop taking the asthma pill altogether

and hope my inhalers do the trick by themselves.

> Speaking of which, have you all started to think about October and how you

> are going to " handle it " ?

October is my all-time favorite month of the year - it brings in cooler

weather and signals the beginning of not just the holiday season but

birthday season in our family. My original goal was to be back to 250 by my

birthday Oct 15th, but with 20 pounds to go between then and now I don't

think that's gonna happen.

>I can do

> this and am not worried about the candy and food for a change, ya know?

Henry is way too old to trick or treat, and being up on the third floor,

kids don't ring our bell so I don't even buy candy any more. *If* anyone

*should* ring, I always have a supply of Halloween-themed pencils around to

hand out. No temptations for me, and leftovers can be used next year.

> I only got to Curves once last week

I attempted to exercise once, and that was Monday morning, before hurting my

foot. I got about 10 minutes into the workout and gave up, too tired to go

on.

> It was a

> bummer though cuz I am going to hit my 100th workout on my next visit.

That's

> ok - that should be tomorrow!!

Does Curves give you anything for reaching this milestone?

> Until yesterday. LOL remember I said yesterday was the first day I felt

> ok/normal?? Well, with it brought the hunger back.

So many people say that this happens to them. I'm usually *more* hungry when

I'm sick, like my body knows it needs extra fuel to fight whatever is wrong

with it.

> Pizza. I know I ate more

> than I should have

I'm still making a pizza every Friday (Whole wheat crust, no cheese, all

veggie toppings) and eat 2 slices for dinner and save the other 2 for lunch

Saturday and Sunday. This past week I ran out of whole wheat flour and made

the pie with almost all all-purpose flour. I ate all 4 slices and was still

looking for more! It's true what they say about white flour being an

addictive substance and not as filling as high-fiber whole wheat! I bought 2

bags of ww flour today and will make darn sure I never run out again!

> And, I had about 4 sodas yesterday. I know now why I avoid it like the

plague.

I hadn't had soda - regular or diet - for years, but a few weeks ago I had a

yen for ginger ale and bought a 12-ounce bottle from a soda machine. I had a

few sips, shuddered at the sweetness of it, then recapped it and put it

away. It took me the entire week to finish that little bottle, and it'll be

a few years before I have a yen for soda again. It was just so disgustingly

sweet!

> So, in light of all of that, I am making this weeks' goals:

Well, goal #1 for me is to see the doc tomorrow, get my thyroid meds

increased (At least doubled, I hope) and be able to avoid a daily nap.

Goal 2 *has* to be getting back on the exercise bandwagon. I'll start small,

maybe just 10 minutes tomorrow, and increase by a few minutes each day until

I can tolerate a half hour a day again. The cooler weather is coming and I

really want to take advantage of the primo walking weather before winter

sets in and I'm stuck indoors again.

Goal 3 is to get used to eating " normal " foods again in proper portion

sizes. I've dropped off the low-fat vegan food plan for now. I really think

my body needs more protein and a little bit of fat. My skin had gotten so

bad a few weeks ago that my arms were flaking like after a sunburn and my

face broke out in the worse case of rosacea rash that I ever had in my life.

As soon as I started eating a hard boiled egg a few times a week and

buttering my toast with lite margarine everything started to clear up a bit.

I plan on having turkey burgers today instead of veggie ones. My skin is

still super dry, I still have what looks like acne on my face in a few

places (I never had acne in my life!), but the added protein and fat hasn't

done anything to perk me up.

Goal 4? Well, I have a load of sewing and mending that needs to be done, an

apartment that needs to be cleaned, mail that needs to be read and answered,

phone calls to be returned- well, you get the picture. Hopefully the doc

will increase the thyroid to a level that will make a difference and I can

start to feel human again. I really hate feeling like this!

I don't own any, mod 1 and I don't know how many I am a member of LOL!!

Ow ow ow!! I don't remember reading what happened (LOL Sorry) but glad it is getting better and no longer swollen.... take it easy though when you start exercising again...

I'm back to 268 - 270, the same weight I was before I started thyroidreplacement 2 months ago. I see the doc tomorrow and *better* get the dosageincreased, because I know the labwork I had done last week won't show anychange for the better.

I'm sure I am in the low 280s still - can't wait to get in the 270s :-D

My son is too (14) and their "carnival" is at school the weekend before anyway... it's so dark in our duplex complex that if I don't want visitors I can turn the outside light off and noone will come back here anyway.... :-D

I attempted to exercise once, and that was Monday morning, before hurting myfoot. I got about 10 minutes into the workout and gave up, too tired to goon.

Glad I am not the only one starting fresh this week!

Does Curves give you anything for reaching this milestone?

Some give a t-shirt or something for the milestones (100, 200, 300, etc...) I don't know about my particular club though.... I'll let ya know!!

Hopefully the doc will increase the thyroid to a level that will make a difference and I can start to feel human again. I really hate feeling like this!

I can relate - am glad that I am feeling better and hope you get the results needed/desired at the doc tomorrow.

> Ow ow ow!! I don't remember reading what happened (LOL Sorry)

I was reaching past the exercycle to set the VCR timer and Ed sneaked up

behind me. I reflexively kicked out and bashed 4 toes on my left foot on the

leg of the exercycle. Within the hour they were swollen up like little

sausages and bright red. I could barely walk on them and sure as hell

couldn't do a video or walk outside for a mile or so. Today they're

okay, and carried me to and from the doc's office just fine. When I get back

from the drug store with my new thyroid prescription I'll have to do my

exercises.

> I'm sure I am in the low 280s still - can't wait to get in the 270s :-D

272 this morning, BUT I haven't taken my water pill for 3 days now. When I

get in from the stores and after my exercise I'll take it. I usually skip

weekends, which is why I pick Wednesday as my official weigh-in day and not

Mondays.

It took me quite a while to get out of the 280's, so hang in there - it'll

happen eventually.

> Glad I am not the only one starting fresh this week!

The doc wants me to get in 30 minutes of cardio every day - 7 days a week,

no excuses. He also says now that he's doubling my thyroid med I should have

a little more pep, but it might take a few weeks to feel the effect, but to

push on, no matter how lousy I feel. :^P

He also wants me to go back down to 1200 calories, because it may have taken

2 months to loose 5 pounds, but at least it was a loss. He said *if* I start

losing more than 2 pounds a week, only then should I increase to 1400

calories again, but if the weight stalls or goes up on 1400, like it's doing

now, to go back down to 1200. He didn't want to hear how starved I get on

that little amount of food, and told me to take a vitamin supplement if I

think I'm not getting enough nutrients.

I'm beginning to not like that man.

> I can relate - am glad that I am feeling better and hope you get the

results

> needed/desired at the doc tomorrow.

Believe it or not, my thyroid levels got *worse* the 2 months I've been on

thyroid supplements. He feels that my body is having a negative reaction to

the natural thyroid, switched me to the synthetic one and doubled the

dosage. My liver enzymes are back in the normal range, so I can safely

continue taking my asthma pill and even pop a Tylenol if I get a headache

again.

At least that was *some* good news today. I woke up late, and then when I

went to print out my blood pressure list to take to the doc's office, my

printer died. I since switched it with an older printer we had laying

around, but the ink carts are dried out, so it'll cost as much to buy new

ink for an 11 year old printer as it would to just buy a new printer.

Arghgh!!!

Wow that was a mouthful! LOL

Glad you are caught up with the e-mails and also VERY glad you are feeling normal again. I sucks to be sick. I don't blame you for going to work sometimes getting caught up makes a huge difference.

I haven't really given a thought to how I am going to deal with the holidays. I didn't too bad last year I think I actually lost weight. I am not making plans for it until I see how well the Hoodia works. SO far so good it works wonderful! But I don't know about making it longer term, it may lose its effectiveness. Anyway If the Hoodia works then I am totally not worried about the coming holidays. (Here's why, Last night for dinner I was NOT a bit hungry so I ate 1/4 C of the following: green beans, rice and pork tenderloin, even with the tiny portions I didn't feel deprived as I was not hungry!) If it doesn't well then I'll have to make a back up plan. Not gonna think about it yet as its too far off. I don't want to start obsessing about something so far away.

100th work out!!!! YAY YOU!!!!!! You go girl you must be so proud.

Don't be too hard on yourself with regars to the pizza. Feeling so bad for so long is bound to take its toll mentally. So think of the pizza as a well deserved treat. Even if you went overboard, you realize you did and can move on from there.

Sounds like you have a good plan for the upcoming week. Here's mine: 1. Drink a TON of water! 2. Try to eat SOMETHING everyday for breakfast. 3.Watch my portions and 4. Continue to make meal plans for the whole week ahead of time. Blessed be,

Speaking of which, have you all started to think about October and how you are going to "handle it"? (it, meaning anything you want it to be). I guess for me *it* is the fall harvest/halloween activities that start up and the candy/food that comes with it between now and the end of the year. I can do this and am not worried about the candy and food for a change, ya know?

As long as there isnt a ton of chocolate stuff or snickers I think I can mange the odd and ends candy. I've had my temptations for the month already as my son brought home not just one but a few boxes of nutty buddy bars. UGGG. Yes I've been eating them. It's my fault I can say no. I am showing some kind of control though and limiting to one a day. Once again I'm not gaining but if i would say no, I would be losing. So I'm kinda doing a good 2 weeks and then a 2 week period of "cheating" and having the higher calorie food on a regular basis. I have to switch my mind set and remind myself that it is a occasssional food and not a daily treat.

I only got to Curves once last week - that is understandable, couldn't really breathe well enough to go any other days - not to mention it would have been rude to go sick and risk infecting anyone else with my germies. It was a bummer though cuz I am going to hit my 100th workout on my next visit. That's ok - that should be tomorrow!! Walking this past week? Not much - just what I had to do to get through the day... eating, etc....? So-so. I think the only thing I managed to do this past week besides sleep and work was drink water and eat a little.

They had chicken pox going around down here. It seems everyone had it or a virus that had everyone sick. Thank goodness we escaped the illness for once. I hope you are feeling better now.

Halloween is a big deal for me too. Up until we lost our house (and my fave costume with it) 2years ago I always dressed to the hilt as a witch, it's the one day of the year I can be myself! Blessed be,

It is a great tasting snack bar. It's right there in the area of the store as the little debbie snack cakes and stuff is. It's wafers with peanut butter and chocolate. It was always one of my favorites as a kid growing up. I never was crazy over the cake type snacks as they always had way to much icing or tasted way too sweet. But peanut butter and chocolate snacks is hard to resist. Snickers bars are even better then those though. Most all other candies and cakes I can do without. I do allow myself to have desserts too but just not on a daily basis. Just lately they have been finding their way to my hands more often then I would like:(

Question what exactly is a nutty buddy? BTW I DO "allow for dessert everyday. I just make sure to add in into my daily calories. Blessed be,
