REJECTION

Saturday 8/26/2006 REJECTION

Throughout my life, I have been through my share of rejection. In elementary

school, I was never picked to be on anyone`s team. I used to feel so bad. I

would just sit by myself and eat. Oh, and there were kids who rejected me as

a friend because they thought I was too silly and over the top for them.

When I began my career, there were many who rejected me and my ideas. Well,

it seems that I`ve been rejected once again. Several months ago, I appeared

on Neil Cavuto`s show on the Fox News Network. On that show, I talked about

resurrecting physical education in the American school system. Neil told me

I should talk to the president about that, and he would get in touch with

his friend, Tony Snow, the press secretary for the president.

I got the opportunity to talk with Mr. Snow, and I felt he understood the

need in my crusade. I told him I was going to send him a letter reviewing

our conversation and also send a letter to the president. The letters were

sent out, and I just waited.

When I arrived back in town from my infomercial shoot in Orlando, there was

a letter from the White House waiting for me. I opened the letter to find a

short paragraph from one of President Bush`s assistants. It simply said that

the President did not want to meet with me.

Gee, I`ve never been rejected by a president before! I started to question

why I got a no. Was it the way I looked – my hair and my tank top and

shorts? Was it because I was loud and too happy, or was it because he just

doesn`t like me? I guess I`ll never know.

I just finished writing Mr. Snow and the president to thank them for their

time, and now I must move on. You know what? Rejection just leads you in

another direction! Next week, I`ll be contacting President Clinton and

others who hopefully will meet with me so I can share with them my fitness

vision! And I`ll be working with the National School Board and asking for

their help and guidance.

Today I really want to thank you for supporting and caring about me.

Love,
