Guest guest
's Daily MessageSaturdayAugust 19, 2006 FASTS For as long as man has inhabited the earth, man has practiced fasting. There are three different kinds of fasting. The first one is fasting for religious reasons. There are days that the Jewish congregation abstains from eating food. The Catholics don`t eat on certain days, also. Matter of fact, there are religious groups all over the world who fast out of respect for what they believe in. The second would be fasting for cleansing reasons. These kinds of fasts were very popular in the 70`s in LA when I moved here. My next door neighbor told me about the fast she was on and asked if I wanted to try her seven day fasting program, so for seven days, I drank water and small amounts of fresh vegetable and fruit juices. After the second day, I was so hungry, I went and bought some cooking magazines just to look at the pictures of the food! LOL! And the third fasting is for weight loss reasons. There was a young girl at Slimmons, and after class she asked if she could talk to me. She told me she had been fasting for 3 weeks, and she wanted to know what I thought. I remembered watching her in class, and she didn`t do very much. She had absolutely no energy, and she looked quite exhausted. I told her that her fasting days were over! I told her she was depleting her body of what it needed to properly function. I told her to start eating healthy and get some rest. The body can handle a one day fast. A seven day fast is really pushing the envelope because, in my opinion, it borders on starvation! Remember, I starved for two and a half months, and I did it solely to lose a lot of weight very fast. I did, and I almost died. Okay, let me stand on my soapbox for a minute. Your body was made to eat food. Your body needs the six food groups in the right portions. Your body needs the FoodMover. I just saw the new purple FoodMover, and you`re gonna flip! Please feed your body healthy this weekend. Love,
