SaturdayAugust 12, 2006TOGETHER WHEREVER WE GO

That`s a lyric from one of my all time favorite Broadway shows, "Gypsy." Well, and know what togetherness is, but let me back up a little and begin with `s story. was married and had 2 sons. One of his sons, at the age of 9, passed away. This upset `s whole world, and shortly after, and his wife got a divorce. His weight escalated to 460 pounds, and `s life seemed so dark.

A year later, he met and fell in love. They were both teachers and had so much in common, and so they married. was very worried about her new husband`s health. One day they were sitting and watching television when a Weight Watchers commercial came on. "And if you call now, your registration will be free!" went on her computer to find the nearest Weight Watchers, and off they went. With a sensible eating program similar to the FoodMover, success stories were born! Are you ready?

has lost 101 pounds, and , 51! Is that unbelievable? has dropped 4 pant and shirt sizes. He told me that one of the greatest benefits of losing weight was that he can now breathe! also shared with me how wonderful has been on this journey. She does the shopping and cooking and monitors what they both eat. They go to all the Weight Watcher meetings together and have become role models for the entire class!

If you are reading this, and , I just want to say how honored I was to speak to you both! You became a team doing and being there for one another. You know, if or would have tried this separately, I don`t think the outcome would have been this successful. Nothing could be better than to be married to your personal cheerleader!

Lots of you who are reading this are married. Did you marry your cheerleader? I hope so! I`ll be a cheerleader at 11:15 this morning when I go to teach at Slimmons. I wish you and your spouse were in my class today.

Love,
