I would like to tell you about 2 ladies who made a decision to get healthy, and wow, did they succeed! Lonnie from Alabama was talking with her neighbor about being disgusted about her weight of 293 pounds. At 320 pounds, her neighbor was disgusted with her weight, too, so the two of them decided to walk!

Lonnie and her neighbor started to walk three days a week religiously. At the end of the 3 months, they had both lost around 40 pounds each! But her neighbor decided she was tired of it and quit. Lonnie was very disappointed, but that day, she made a decision that she was gonna keep walking and keep losing! Now Lonnie has shed a total of 56 pounds! Unfortunately, her neighbor has gained all her weight back and has developed high blood pressure. Lonnie is now on a crusade to get her neighbor to walk again, and I believe she`ll have a walking partner very soon!

And then there is Gena from South Carolina. She met the man of her dreams and got married. Gena got pregnant 3 years ago and gave birth to Dorie, and 2 years later, gave birth to Will. When Will was 1 year old, he was diagnosed with a medical condition that causes swelling of the spinal cord. This has caused Will to be paralyzed from the waist down.

At 300 pounds, Gena was carrying Will up the stairs and could hardly get to the top, and when she got to the top, she decided that she was not in any shape to carry Will around and care for him like she should. She decided to make better food choices and started to involve the entire family in weekend activities. Now Gena is in shape to do anything, because Gena has now lost 75 pounds! She wants to lose another 40 pounds and have another child. Gena, you will get to your goal, and your body will be healthy to welcome another child into this world.

I have to tell you, Lonnie and Gena are 2 gals I really respect because they have finally learned to respect themselves! How is your self-respect level today?
