Hi there, I'm here! Been really busy lately. Had a lot of stuff going wrong Finally yesterday they fixed our air conditioner. It went completely out Friday. It hadn't been working very well before it went out. I have been sooooooo hot. When I get hot and other things are going wrong it affects my depression. So that is why I haven't been on line much lately. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things. Today is my husband's and my 3 year wedding anniversary. We are going to the movies and then out to dinner. There doesn't seem to be very many romantic movies playing right now so we are going to see something funny. At least hope it will be funny. The commercials for it look funny. We are going to see that show "Barn Yard" I think it is called. Tomorrow is going to be a really full day for me. So don't know if I will be able to get on the computer at all tomorrow. I am going to an assessment. What it is, is for Vocational Rehabilitation (the place that will help me find a job). I am going to be working at one of the jobs I am interested in (I won't get paid for it). They are going to see how I handle it (both emotionally and physically). This one you have to stand for three to four hours. I don't know if I can stand that long, but I am going to try it. If I do get a job it will only be a part-time job. I have decided against working with children (although I am really good with children). It would just be too emotionally draining on me right now. I put a lot of emotion in when I work with children. So I will let you know how all that goes. Then tomorrow night is my nephew's birthday party. We are going to have cake and ice cream and open presents and then we are going to go swimming in my brother's pool. It is not a big pool so I can't do laps and stuff like that, but it will give me a little bit of exercise at least. Well, that is what is going on with me right now. I hope that soon I can get back into this group properly and be more supportive of you all. from MO. Where is everyone?!Ok where are all you guys at?!!!! [}Have a great time at the movies. I was glad to hear from you again

Hi ,

Glad you got the a/c fixed and can hopefully stay cool now!! Happy late anniversary. How was dinner and movie? How did the assessment go? And, how is your sister doing?

Hi , It does feel so much better since we got the a/c fixed. I don't know how I survived without it. I just know I was miserable. Thanks for the happy anniversary. We had a very very good day. Went to the movies. It was cute, but not something I would see again. Then went out to a Tex/Mex place for dinner. Dinner was wonderful. Took part of it home for leftovers the next day. As far as the assessment goes, I went on Wednesday and found out that they changed when I was supposed to come and didn't tell me. So it ended up being yesterday. I worked from 1pm to 3:30pm. I didn't think I would be able to stand longer then 30 minutes, but I stood the whole 2 1/2 hours. My feet were killing me at the end of it, but I think if I had on different shoes my feet wouldn't have hurt so bad. I worked at Kirklands. I think that is the name of the place. I was supposed to work longer, but they ran out of things for me to do. I could have worked longer even though my feet were hurting. Also twice during the time I was working my knee did some weird things like it some times does and I had major pain in it, but it didn't last long. I just hope that if I get a job that is standing for a long time that my knee doesn't decide to go totally out. Still don't know what I will actually end up doing. I just know what ever I do it will only be for three to four hours a day. My sister is home from the hospital, but she is bed bound. She has a feeding tube in her, and they are thinking that while she was in the hospital this last time she might have picked up some kind of bug, which is the last thing she needs right now. I don't know what is going to happen with her next. I just wish that things would get better for her soon. Please keep her in your prayers. Well, got to go for now. Haven't been eating right or exercising this week. Hope I can get back into the swing of things soon. from MO. Re: Where is everyone?!Hi , Glad you got the a/c fixed and can hopefully stay cool now!! She is home from the hospital, but she is bed bound now. She has a feeding tube in her, and they are worried that she might have picked up some kind of bug at the hospital the last time she was in. She has nothing in her stomach yet she is having diareha (sp?). The doctor is baffled about how she could be having that when there is nothing in her stomach. I'll keep you posted on how she is doing. from MO. Re: Where is everyone?! how is your sister? NH... Mom to Abby Liz 10/94 Anne 7/99

Do you get a say in anything that they are lining up for you? Would make sense to state your needs and preferences. I mean, now we are talking physical pain and suffering... not a good thing to play with there, hon... talk with your counselor and see what they can do. I can see some on the feet stuff, but a full day of standing? :-/

Hugs, keeping ya in my thoughts and prayers over this one...

, are you getting help to get a job, I know you mentioned

assessments, If that is the case you have choices you know. I am

working currently with someone to do assessments for VR to know what

kind of job to place them in and I offer them choices.

She spent the day crying the other day. She can't do anything at all and all this is really getting to her. All she can do is lay in bed, and that is all she has done for weeks now. She is experiencing depression with all this. I just don't know how to help her.

I'm sure she is. Even though this isn't an easy fix to the losing weight dilemma, I am sure she thought it would be a *tiny* bit easier... Maybe bring her books and things she can enjoy while she is bed-bound, be there for her, clean house, help with meals for her husband if necessary (I know, he's a grown man but still... any help would be good...)

How is your ex doing? How are the kids doing? How are you doing? I hope everything is improving.

I'm exhausted. I am sure my mother is exhausted too. Kids are starting to get on each other's nerves. I am sure that is something that will pass as things get better. He's still in the hospital, but getting a little healthier. They did some bronchio treatment or other last night to drain some fluid from the lungs. Amazed about how much is still in there I think... I'm hoping he gets out of the hospital soon and starts gaining strength so he can have the kids at home during the day at least.... wishful thinking I know...

Yes, my sister is married. She has three kids, but two of them are now graduated from high school and her third is a senior in high school. So she doesn't have to worry about them. I feel for her. Does your sister have a counselor/therapist as part of her care team from the hospital/program where she had her surgery? Sounds as if to me she is suffering from some major depression. There should be a therapist available to her in her follow-up/after-care team. If she doesn't want to call, her husband could probably call for her. <6@...> wrote: Yes, my sister is married.
